- After graduating from the prestigious Arnhem ArtEZ institute of the arts Kate fled to Berlin. With many new ideas and a pocket full of experiences she returned to Amsterdam where her illustrated work was recognised almost instantly. With just a pencil and fine liner she creates the most imaginative pieces of art that draw you into her very own little universe. Slightly dark, feminine, layered and utterly refined sums up Kate’s typical aesthetics.

Inspired by the work of Muf archtects, London, artist Kate Van Harreveld has created this fascinating print. Founded in London in 1994, muf officially coins itself as 'a collaborative practice of art and architecture committed to public realm projects'. The practice was set up defiantly and explicitly as an alternative to what the founding members, saw as mainstream practice. As the clearest defining set of principles in setting up muf, founding member Liza Fior mentions the 'bringing together of interesting women'. Feminism is not openly mentioned, yet there is an underlying and often explicit tenet of feminism within their work, in particular the notion of collaborative practice signals a commitment to 'mutual knowledge', and the context of the public realm indicates a social (spatial) ambition beyond the fixity of the building as object. muf's work, is known for utilizing the processes of planning where spaces can be left open to include the voices of others; they are, in fact, all about the voices of others.
