Anubis: Dark Desire (Hardcover) Hardcover – 29 Sept. 2015

Firstly, it's good to see this back [more then likely you, like I, would have only seen these comics online as they were only printed in america, were only available to adults. And adding to that limited niche it's about anthromorphs] and in hardcover printed format!Secondly, this time around instead of beautiful black&white lineart it's in glorious colour!the pros of this bookis that a vast amount of the original material is combined togetherit's in colourthere are 3 new comics [1 of which is a short strip that runs along the bottom of one that rather cheekily takes the mick out of adult comic content ^^] The Dark Desire Of Sekhmet, No Photography [coupled with] Comics These Days.there's some small insight to characters and some notes about their creations/ideasthere's even afew new standalone pictures that weren't in the original releases.it also contains the original colour covers from the 4 releasesthe bad thing thouis that even thou the colour work can range from exquisite to anime to plain, it DOES obliterate the original pencil/shading/ink work [the most notorious is Dark Natasha's shading [example the cheetah in The Great Treasure Of Anubis] absolutely stunning shading in the black and white version, althou the colouring is lovely it doesn't have the pop of the original release]it's missing quite afew standalone art pieces from the original releases [these are the pics that were used as dividers between stories]it's missing the short stories - Secrets Of Anubis, [and my personal favourite because it is both sweet and sad] A Gentle Goodnight.original release listing-1a scroll in the haygod, what a nightthe great treasure of anubisofferings2a kiss in the riversecrets of anubisthe huntersthe tomb plunderercrashanother great treasure3untitled [in this version renamed Anthropology]sand in my aya gentle goodnightvirtual reality - here i comehumble desires4as my master wishesdenial on the nilethere is only one thing to do[even thou it was listed on the contents page, it didn't have a title on the actual page itself] Sobek's just dessertsout of the stormavatar gamesNow, if they just released ANOTHER anthology containing ALL the original content [defiantly INCLUDING the 2 missing stories!] - stories, page spreads/standalones. And in original B&W then I don't mind paying the same price for it, Hell! i'll pay double if they made an anthology that contained BOTH colour and black&white!! [or they could just re-print the original material as it was years ago?]But I don't understand why 2 stories were cut [and don't say it was because of their length!! that's rubbish! } it's nice to have the included new stuff but why get rid of 2 originals? couldn't the new stories have been added to the rest? did they really have a page count that only let them have 188 pages? [in which case they've failed haven't they as the total page count is 192! [not including the front and back page]Don't get me wrong, this is an exquisite book! BUT when it comes to any type of anthology you EXPECT all the original content to be included PLUS whatever other freebies they went to give you, NOT to find that quite a chunk of original content has been cut!

Good stories, illustrated by some of my favorite artists. I am soooo glad I got this
