Great Smart Plugs That Work + Track Power Usage
OK, So the reason I purchased these were because I was using an Electric Blanket at night and falling to sleep before turning it off. I have various health issues so I really needed it on to begin with.Anyway, skeptical and worried about them burning out or blowing up I used them both with extreme caution, until now they're on 24/7.One actual fantastic thing that I hadn't really realised they had were that they can measure the amount of power used by whatever is running at them - which led me to finding out that my single electric blanked on FULL uses less electricity than the 17" Bedroom Fan on Low.... YIKES! I have that thing on all night for white noise, so it's since made me turn it off after 30mins to an hour so that I save energy that way too.So whilst I wouldn't recommend running extensions or heavy power usage devices such as computers, for odds and sods they're really, really good. Also I have issues with the WIFI Bulbs on Smartlife app needing to be re-paired constantly, I've had no such issues at all with these plugs. Therefore they've past my rather long 3 month review period (which normal is a few days but I wanted to be super certain with these) and they are indeed fantastic and recommended.

Easy to flash to Tasmota. Has power monitoring. Recommended.
Nice little plugs. Wanted for my local Home Assistant automation system and fit the bill nicely. Able to flash to Tasmota without opening the plugs. The first plug flashed immediately and was the easiest I've ever managed, while the second plug took several attempts, but worked fine. If it doesn't work first time stick with it, as it may take time. The plugs also have power monitoring, which is great for the price. This is exposed in Tasmota, so can be used to trigger automations as a simple way of checking when something is running and so drawing power or when it stops (e.g. washing machines, tumble driers, etc.). The power monitoring may need calibration before it is accurate, but straight out of the box it does enough for my needs. All in all a great little plug, which will hopefully give good service for some time to come.

Perfect with Alexa
These are perfect for Alexa users. I am trying to get my house fully Alexa compatible as I am a tech buff and these work perfectly.Setting up was easy if you are technically minded, if not the instructions will get you going just fine.I now use Alexa to turn numerous lamps around the house on which all have these plugs connected to them. You really can’t go wrong :)

Alexia compatible but fiddly to set up
2Nice products include smart-bulbs which I already run via my Echo Dot. I chose 2Nice again, for plugs, because, although the bulbs were a bit of a pain to set up with Alexia, at least I knew what obstacles I would likely encounter.Firstly, I went straight to the he Alexia app to see if it just picked up the plugs, knowing that the app already had the Gosund skill. But no luck.So to the Gosund app which, as with the bulbs, couldn't find the plugs using the first (slow-flashing), direct Wi-Fi. The second method creates a temporary new SSID and then links them via your own WiFi. This worked fine and Alexia woke up to say she'd found new devices (Alexia did not do this for the bulbs - I had to manually add them via the Alexia app). Two cautionary notes:1: The WiFi you use for 2nice devices must not be 5Ghz - it just doesn't support this frequently.2: Program the plugs where you are going to use them. They are a pain to reset if you move them and rarely work as initially programmed once unplugged for any length of time.

Simple to set up and work well
Turning the Christmas tree lights on and off was proving to be a bit "mission impossible" this year, and involved belly-crawling under the branches, between the presents to find the switch. So, I took the plunge into the 'smart plug' world with these little units.Easy enough to set up using the GoSund app, and can be controlled from the phone.I haven't integrated with Alexa at the moment, but it does work well enough with our Google home devices. "Turn on the tree" is much easier than learning special-ops skills!

Gosund App, Google Home and 5GHz
Just set 5 of these up on Google Home and thought I'd share some observations.Gosund APPThe 2Nice manual says you have to switch your phone to a 2.4GHz channel. However I set mine up while my phone was on 5GHz which is much easier. After locating the "Add Device" screen as per the instructions, I pressed "Auto Scan" (instead of selecting "All Devices" and then"Socket"). I confirmed my WI-FI name and password and this found my device after a few seconds. I then continued with the set up as per the instructions.Google HomeIt took me a while to realise that in the Set up for new devices I had to select the "Works with Google" option not "New Devices". Once I'd done that and linked my Gosund account the rest was fairly straightforward.Had a problem where Google Home said that the devices were offline. I simply unlinked the Gosund account and then re-connected to it.I'm using these to switch our downstairs lamps on and off automatically so I set up 2 routines in Google Home using "Home Control" under "Browse Popular Options" as the routines actions.Hope this is of some use.

Measures energy not power. Can reflash with Tasmota.
The product description correctly says this product measures energy, not power as many reviews state. The difference is important, even if little understood, and had me scratching about for a while, failing to extract a power measurement.Anyway, I bought this product, only because I could reflash its firmware with Tasmota, easily done. The first product is now installed in the washing machine circuit, with no problems. I can graph the energy use of my washing machine and (a) see when it is cheapest to run it, and (b) auto-send a message to my & Mrs C's phones that the washing machine cycle has finished. OTT ? Probably but good mental exercise in these coronavirus days.
