Local but good and honest product
I have quite a few lodge items also. I thought let me try a local brand, as lodge doesn’t have 11 or 12inch kadai, but 14 inch wok, which would be too big for me. And after reading so many reviews I ordered this. I received it today, to my surprise it was heavy and somewhat smooth when I ran a finger over the insides. The product is nowhere near lodge finish, and barring a few casting irregularities and uneven crater like surface, (maybe because it’s handmade) it was excellent once seasoned. I seasoned it with oil in low flame for about 20 minutes, then cooled it down, added rice wash water and heated for about 10 minutes, rinsed with water. Again applied oil generously and fried some onion to make a coating for about 15-20 minutes and voila it was done.I cooked my first dish in it, a vegetable dry curry and it was perfect and didn’t stick. I’m sure with usage and time it’s going to be excellent. The depth and width are great too. Can cook for 3-4 people easily. Overall I am very happy with it. I’m not sure about the other sellers but I got it from seller siva naturalsUpdate after a few usages:: it is getting better and better and totally non-stick. The older it gets, It would be better I guess. One tip though. Don’t use tamarind or any citrus items and boil for a long time until the patina fully forms. For short bursts of tomato frying it’s been good...but only after seasoning sticksHonestly speaking I wanted to give it off in the beginning but now it’s become my favorite and go-to kadai.

Good quality... quite heavy but no finishing
Heavy kadahi.... of 10.5 inches in diameter when measured. No finishing inside... lots of grooves and ridges. Unfinished quality. Quite heavy to use ... cast iron quality is good.

Rusting
It is a very bad cast iron kadai and even after seasoning it several times it's not taking a form like my other cast iron utensils, it leaves a lot of rust after every use. it does not turn into that black colour which it should be actually.

Very Good
I liked the product over all. Its heavy and serves its purpose. Only concern is the handles, they are thin and rusted. But after a few uses they are smooth too. We use daily and its good.
