Not the quality of previous Ovation gloves
The gloves I received are not at like the previous Ovation ladies crochet backed gloves I have gotten in the past. The size on the new one is much larger, Especially in the thumb. Construction is of lesser quality--with fraying already starting on fingers amd back. In the picture my old glove (at least a year old , riding 2-3 horses 5 days a week, plus more) is on the left, current purchase (ridden in for 2-3 weeks max) on the right. Very disappointed as I have ridden with these style gloves of this brand for almost 10 years and now will likely be finding another brand of glove or at least another source. I feel that the new one is a knock off as not even the inside tag matches.

GREAT DRIVING GLOVES - and riding gloves, naturally {;-)
Flexible pigskin leather, 100% cotton crochet. Reinforced inside thumb & first finger, and finger tips. A standard horseman's' exercise/training glove for riding. Slight elastic at the wrist, with vented leather horseshoe shape piece over the top. No Velcro. They make very comfortable, breathable, affordable, spring-summer driving gloves which help keep the sun off of your hands and improve the grip on the steering wheel.Durable, I wear these every day, about three hours a day, they last about 2 years a pair.... for driving that is.My riding/training gloves can last that long if the horses are easy, but if the horses I have are goofing around a lot, well,... not many gloves can take rough horses for a couple of years without wearing out.

Well made, last longer than other crochet gloves I’ve had. I’d definitely buy again.
Nice gloves for long trail riding/endurance riding. No rubbing at the wrist, breath, good palm leather, not too thin or thick. Dry overnight after a wet ride. I’d wear something heavier in the dead of winter. Good 3 season glove.

NOT for short fingers
I had a pair of these gloves I bought directly from Ovation about 5 yrs ago. They fit like a 'glove' & I really liked them for summer horse chores. Ordered a pair I thought would fit going by the size of the original pair I had. They didn't fit my hand at all. So sent them back & searched for another one. This pair fits my palm well but the fingers are so long, they're uncomfortable. But I decided to keep them rather than hassle with returning them & trying to find another pair.

Great gloves
Love these gloves. The leather is soft, the crochet backing is breathable, they protect my hands, and they are super comfortable. I've gone through a ton of them, because I'm terrible at keeping track of my gloves. But it turns out that if you don't lose them, they last quite a while, even if you abuse them. (I rarely clean mine and they get all kinds of gunk on them.) You might want new ones for looks, as the leather darkens unevenly from use over time and the light crochet weave gets quite dirty. If you're interested in functionality more than looks, though, it takes years to wear through them.

The quality of these gloves has plummeted.
The manufacturer is at fault here; they only look the same as the originals in the photo. A rider's gloves need to be sensitive in use. In the past the palms were made of thin, pliable leather. Now the leather is of a dubious quality that's much thicker and stiffer than before, and the crochet back has a coarser weave when compared to my older well-used pair. However, they did arrive promptly and I could utilize them for driving. Easier than returning them ...

Great gloves but not as pictures
I really love the gloves pictures (without velcro), but the gloves that were delivered have velcro enclosures on the wrist. I had a clinic that weekend and needed gloves so I kept and used them. The crochet backing still breathes, and the leather is very grippy. But I do not like the velcro. Disappointed for sure.

Disappointing quality
Thin leather and loose ends on the crocheted back. Not at all like quality of older crocheted gloves. Disappointed and returning.
