Great book for beginners
Although the content between most of the DSLR-focused "..for dummies" is mostly the same, for a beginner having all that basic content tailored to the controls of a specific camera is a great manual to have. The young one found it clear, easy to follow, logical and had only good things to say about this book. Use it for what is intended - beginner training, taking someone from "first time I hold a real camera in my hands" to learning the controls and understanding their purpose.

The Perfect 'Schoolbook' for Learning About Your T6i
I recently purchased a new Canon Rebel T6i, and let's be honest, I'm definitely not a professional photographer. However, I wanted to put more effort into learning photography techniques, and with that comes the necessity of needing to know the 'ins and outs' of your camera. I found this guide to be incredibly helpful, especially for a beginner with the Rebel series. I feel it provides easy to follow instruction and explanation on your to produce the best, quality work possible.I definitely recommend this how-to book to anyone wanting to fully learn about their Rebel T6i, as it will truly help you learn the functionality and precision of this awesome camera!

A good reference
What a great book! I don't mean to be labeled as a 'Dummy' but the authors explain in simple language all a newbie needs to know, from preparing your camera to get it up and running through to working with videos. A good read and an extremely well thought out reference.

I haven't gotten all that far into the book yet but so far I think it's great. It's written in a manner that is very understandable and the author is encouraging rather than merely matter of fact. Easy to follow, plenty of tips, examples and pictures. For twenty bucks or so, you can't lose.

Worth it!
Great instructional book; not too technical, not too basic. Great diagrams, an intuitive book and as a bonus, it fit into my camera bag!

Not for the non-Dummy
I bought it because, unlike the instruction manual, it has an index. But the index is not at all detailed and many of the items I wanted to look up weren't there, even though I later found them within the pages of the book. It doesn't even have a diagram of the camera with page references for each button, as does the instruction manual. It might be ok as an introduction for a rank neophyte to photography in general, but it fails as a reference book for someone familiar with the general principles of photography who simply wants a reference guide to this particular rather complicated camera.

Secrets Divulged.
It is recommended that you purchase this book when you first take possession of a Rebel 750D, new or second hand. The book's layout is indicative of an incredible amount of attention to detail and planning. E.g. it is a simple matter to locate any aspect of your camera in a surprisingly short time and proves an effective companion in preventing impact damage when placed beneath your camera in its carrying bag, in addition to its preventing inadvertent abuse of your camera.Whilst it is fully realised that there are many experts in the field when it comes to Canon users, I wouldn't mind betting a pound to a penny that this book will teach you something you didn't know about your camera. That's what I found.Canon are cunning and clever, in that, if you fit a non-Canon lens, then try to video a long 'take' with it, the video may become punctuated with pauses of 'black screen', randomly spaced. This may prove mysterious to professional and amateur alike. It was the only thing that this book didn't mention, other than that, it was utterly complete. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to beginner and professional alike, after all, we are never too old to learn.

Helpful to find all the short cuts and where all of the settings are. Camera not always intuitive so I found book helpful. Also a refresher on some functions that I had forgotten about
