You may hear some people say that you shouldn't read these books by Maria Valtorta. People said that to me also. I chose to make up my own mind and decided to read them. I loved them. They made me feel so close to my Lord and Savior. God wants us to know Him and to love Him. Reading these books took me out of my day-to-day world and up-close with Jesus. It's a reading experience I am so grateful I didn't miss. I love God even more since reading these books. I invite you to open your heart and mind, and read "The Poem of the Man-God"...and don't be afraid! Peace to You!

We live by faith as Catholics and crucial to that faith is the belief that The Holy Spirit has imparted to us all the graces and knowledge we need to understand what we need to understand. Reading this clap-trap full of bourgeois sentiment and ignorant fantasies, wildly unhistoric, spiritually unsound throughout will KEEP you from reading what you NEED to read and deeply ponder and turn you away from simplicity of heart and make you a "Valtorta Groupie" or worse.

For those above judgment and those who see without the eyes of religion. IT is them who will understand this work truly for its message of forgiveness and love. The church says many things most of which are not true. This is one of them. I advise to those who seek within to read and critique for themselves.peace

These Five Volumes have helped me immensely to return to as well as to remain in my Christian (Catholic) faith after dropping out for 30 long years. I could never get into the Bible until I started reading the Poem and now I am reading the Bible with new appreciation and thanksgiving for the Word of God. The Poem deepened my Faith and brought a new understanding of the word "unconditional Love". I am much more in the Peace of the Lord and the Joy of "remembering His Love, Life and Sacrifice". And yes: I am also reading the Bible as well as studing the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Holy Father. The Rosary has new meaning to me and I pray the Rosary every day. Never in my wildest dream, I though anyone or anything could change me and bring me back to our Mother Church - the Poem did!I always wished and prayed that Jesus Himself would guide me through the Bible.
