The Man in the White Linen Suit: A Stewart Hoag Mystery (Stewart Hoag Mysteries, 11)

I have read all of the Hoagy and Lulu mysteries and this one is very good. Many times I found myself smiling and laughing while I was reading. I do love Lulu!!The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars is there are a few sentences about Trump I am not interested in the author's political view.I do hope the author continues this series. I look forward to reading more about Hoagy and Lulu.

I only wish David Handler could write the Hoagy and Lulu mysteries as quickly as I can read them. I love being taken into Hoagie's world which is so colorfully created by the author. His mixture of rich detail, pithy dialogue, and great wit grab me as soon as I start reading and make it difficult to put his books down. I'm so glad this series has been brought back and I hope there are many many more to come. Mr. Handler, please stay up late writing!

I am an unabashed fangirl of this series and eagerly await the next one. Handler's deft touch with plot, humor and character make reading this very literate work a real treat. Naturally I love Lulu. (who wouldn't?). He manages to interject her into the story without overwhelming the reader as some authors do with their animal companions. I also enjoy Handler's descriptions of New York City and his ability to create characters with depth and panache.

Enjoyed this book very much. I have owned basset hounds so Lulu is always a high spot in the story. Liked the ending. Felt like all those that should get their comeuppance did. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

I love everything David Handler writes. His stories are well-crafted and the mysteries keep you guessing. The characters are quirky enough to be interesting without being irritating. His books are exactly what a good mystery should be. The story engages from the first word. The characters are interesting. The writing is elegant. I have read everything Handler has written, and if you want to read good mysteries, read his.

Handler's Hoagy series is my favorite, I was thrilled when he returned to Hoagy, Lulu, Merilee, and Lt. Very. The Man in the White Linen Suit is the best to date. Full of sly humor and out-and-out chuckles, insider gossip and insights into the world of publishing in the nineties, and cultural references to the days before the Internet, the book is a delicious romp, nostalgia for me, perhaps history for others.

I liked the main characters. Hoag is witty and a nice man who lives an honest life. Very and the basset hound are his cohorts in solving crimes. Light and interesting read.

The best of the series so far.
