Overall good but needs revision.
I am using this textbook to study for my upcoming mdcb exam and I have completed by 50%, so here is 25 cents. I think overall it is a good tool to use for exam study. I like the fact that the textbook is just one endless test, and the actual material is at the end of each chapter in answers section. This book also has 3 mocking tests in the same format as mdcb which is great I think. But this book needs a lot of improvement. Many calc problems have typos or wrong answers posted. Especially brachytherapy calcs chapter. I mean if this is how they calc doses at MCI, then it’s just flat scary. Keep in mind that this is the only edition and it hasn’t been revised since 2015.I recommend using Khans lectures along with this review book because it looks like many questions are based on the material from khans. For $80 for ebook this is a really good bargain

So-so...but good enough to use.
I purchased this book recently to help in my preparation for the ABR parts 1 and 2 therapeutic physics exam. (Yes, I'm starting early). The book itself is organized okay and covers a good amount of material, but there are a lot of errors. Very frustrating and some of the questions and answers are oddly worded.

The right guide for the job
A must-have for any therapist, dosimetrist or physicist interested in passing the Medical Dosimetry boards.

Errors...
I think someone else nailed it on the head...the book is a good guideline and has good questions, but it's PLAGUED by errors. I wouldn't trust the answers as fact. If you're not 100% certain about a question, look to other reputable/established sources for the answers. I would still recommend, but with hesitation. Good luck to all those studying for the MDCB and ABR exams.

The idea to write this book was great. But it is truly unbelievable how many errors (both in the questions and answers) this book contains - they render it useless, as they appear at least once on every page. Also, if you are using a Kindle version, it is very inconvenient that the questions sections are in one place, and then the answers - in their own separate chapter elsewhere in the book, and are numbered very differently. For example, section 13.2 contains questions about the ultrasound and the answers are to be found in section 13.6.

So many errors!
This book contains countless errors. You'll be able to determine answers that are incorrect or described wrong. I can find at least 1 error on each answer page. There are probably more that I can't determine. It's hard to say because this book is trying to teach me incorrect answers.

VERY comprehensive review and great for residents
I think this is an excellent book for radiation oncology resident or those studying dosimetry. It was very useful while studying for parts of the radiation biology as well as physics boards. Furthermore, it offers keen insight into radiotherapy planning. It is very well organized and thorough. The explanations are also comprehensive. I appreciate that every question has a thorough explanation of all the right and wrongs answers. I'll be honest the book does have a few errors, BUT they are NOT in content but some of the answers may be mis numbered. I think simple editing could fix these issues. Other than that the book is top notch and I would highly recommend it!

CMD study review
I am a former student of the La Crosse University Dosimetry program. I used this study guide to study for my Medical Dosimetry Board. It provided detail answers with full explanations for each of the subjects I studied. This book is organized and extremely easy to follow. I have passed my board in great thanks to this book. I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to take the CMD exam and pass it on their first try.
