Paul Conroy is not ready to die. But when he wakes up six feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival. Buried with only a cell phone and a lighter, his contact with the outside world and ability to piece together clues that could help him discover his location are maddeningly limited. Poor reception, a rapidly draining battery, and a dwindling oxygen supply become his worst enemies in a tightly confined race against time; fighting panic, despair and delirium, Paul has only ninety minutes to be rescued before his worst nightmare comes true.

Stupid movie and Spoiler alert!!
I'm sorry, but this movie did noting for me. Ryan Reynolds could have picked a better script. The sand is filling the coffin, which to me means that it is loose sand, with air in it, not packed tightly at all. It's a wooden coffin, which has cracks enough for a snake to get in. This to me means it is flimsy and not once did he ever kick it, he only pushed with his hands. He also had a knife with him and could have carved out a hole and then put his hand through and tried to crack the wood and pull it apart inward and then dig out somehow. If his cell was working that means he was not that far below ground. He was not a smart person in how he used his tools that were with him. Sorry, but the directing and producing was awful.

Ah … Ryan Reynolds
Really don’t get the point of this movie … maybe was one of the least expensive movies ever made … maybe “see what happens when!” … maybe just a heart-pounding “is he going to get out?” horror thing … what it was - in reality - Ryan Reynolds showing that he is not just another pretty face with a whole lot of ability and then of course, I kept thinking: “Wow, that box must really have a huge amount of his sweat and smell in there.” What would a chunk of that go for on the open market?

Ignore the bad reviews
Pretty much all the bad reviews for people that were upset that it was realistic. the other bad reviews were people who were just too ignorant To understand a movie like this. It was a movie about a guy in coffin And it did not have blood and guts and sex. Literally what are the people who gave it a bad review Was upset that when his finger was cut off they did not show blood squirting out. Basically The bad reviews are from the people in our society who have been dumbed down to the point of being Brain dead. Don't get me wrong The movie might not be for everybody and. And the camera never leaves the coffin, so that might be. Go over somebody to watch.. The fact is right. Did a great job, but the ending was very realistic? The movie was in. Hence, an incredibly hard watch and. Is it your normal movie? Which most likely led to a lot of the bad reviews. But it was extremely realistic, extremely difficult. It was very. Panicky.. if you're in the mood to be. Scared by things other than fake gore, or Hollywood ghost scenes. It is definitely a movie that will have you disturbed by the end.

Ryan Reynalds is incredible
Ryan Reynolds shows off his acting chops in this one. He finds a way to take an hour and a half located in him being buried underground and finds a way to make it not drag. It’s suspenseful, endearing, and heartbreaking. Great movie, definitely worth watching

Not everyone gets out of the box.
Had many moments of realization and confrontation of being alive in the world doing things , living, as opposed to being underground in a square of blackness. The realistic ending of this movie is disturbing and a major reason for most of the minus 5 stars reviews. HOWEVER NOT EVERYONE GETS OUT OF THE BOX. That is real. People died this way and this movie shows you what it must have been like. The final moment as sand fills up the coffin, he responded to the man on the phone in his last seconds " ok, ok".Now this here, its a pity and makes your insides sink. You experience this moment with the protagonist. No hope , accepting a fate, accepting death without an opportunity to think about it anymore.

Blooper movie?
I gave this movie 2 stars only because I love hot sexy (but not in this movie) Ryan Reynolds. The director must have been sleeping through the whole filming. Come on! First of all everyone knows the strip of cloth is not a real gag. And hands tied in front is a joke. But really people watch the strip of cloth. Pulls it off like it's not tied then darkness then viola it's back on his neck! Did anyone ever try to hold a zippo lighter for more than a minute? The whole thing gets hot enough to take your fingerprints off. (I've seen it up close and eeewww). Then very shortly before it gives out the inside of the lid is on fire exactly like it will when freshly filled. I thought for sure when he cut his finger off would be the highlight of the movie but they didn't even show it or even blood squirting. I can't believe I actually sat through the whole movie but, well, judging by the reviews over a thousand of us thought something good had to happen any minute. One more thing- why does it say there's a cast of 21????

Damn Good Movie
Very realistic, scary and sad! The only thing that bothered me is that he had wifi in the coffin which means that he wasn't buried 6 feet down, only a few feet. After an explosion the wood became slightly broken and weaker and because he had a knife, why didn't he take that chance to break through the wood the top of the wood with his feet, hold his breath and climb through while the sand was coming in? Because while the sand is coming through so is the oxygen because the ground kept shifting during the explosion. Awesome movie though. I have even more respect for Ryan Reynolds as an actor. I knew that he was talented, but this was Oscar worthy.

Like a fly in a spiders web
This 2010 suspense thriller features Ryan Reynolds as Paul Conroy, a truck driver who is taken hostage in Iraq and is buried alive in a coffin as his kidnappers demand a ransom. The film opens with Paul already inside the coffin and follows his progress as he awakens and attempts to alert the outside world [and government agencies] to his situation by using various items his kidnappers have left him, such as a mobile phone, but will he be rescued, released or escape in time?A film set entirely within a coffin, with one central character, may not sound entertaining viewing but given the fact that most people fear being buried alive [vampire mythology etc] it works exceedingly well and Reynolds plays his part magnificently, drawing us into his personal ordeal. Filmed in what seems ‘real time’ we’re immediately sucked into his nightmare as his panic and frustration grow. We see short flashes of imagery as his mind wanders and eavesdrop on conversations carried over the phone between government bureaucrats, would be rescuers and the demanding kidnappers, but we also soon learn –as does Paul, that the world of politics is a murky mire. The single disc loads to a trailer then goes to main screen offering Play, scene selection, set up [2.0 or 5.1 and English hard of hearing on/off]. An excellent 15 rated thriller worthy of **** but it’s more the novelty appeal that drives this. A short featurette shows how it was all done but only the 2.0 stereo worked on my disc.

BURIED: CLAUSTROPHOBIC THRILLER!
Claustrophobic thriller. It evokes elements of sheer terror of being buried alive, running out of air and suffocated by sand. The plot needs more of a background story or introduction, however, to set the being 'buried alive' into context. The plot follows a truck driver who is taken hostage in Iraq and buried alive in a wooden box deep underground.

Harrowing but gripping!
This was an emotional rollercoaster. It is extremely intense and if you're claustrophobic then you may struggle with it! Harrowing and traumatic with the odd bit of dark humour that only Ryan Reynolds can bring to a film like this. Thoroughly enjoyed it but it is not for the faint hearted!

Buried - Under Ground.
If you don't like a film that is set in the one scene this won't be for you.As I've said in some of my previous film reviews despite being only one and a half hours long it feels a lot longer for the majority of the film. As is often the case in a lot of films, the last fifteen to twenty minutes are really good and I won't spoil it for you but I quite liked the ending.I can imagine some people out there not liking the movie, but for me it was a worthy watch.
