Not a standard use.
We are using it to support some equipment with laboratory clamps. It has proven to be very strong and portable.

Very sturdy - awesome value for price
Impressive quality for such an inexpensive item. I love the quick release. It moves up/down very easy, and solidly grabs the pole. Much much better than the old-school twist knob, which adds a ton of noise on the pole to mother the mic. I also love the portable legs - the tripod at the bottom is rather hefty, not flimsy by any stretch of the imagination. Found online much cheaper than at Guitar Center. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
