Russian Sheepskin Leather Coat – Waterproof, Windproof Handmade Shearling Jacket

As of writing this I have had my coat (L 50-3) for about 6 months. During this time period I have done some serious traveling and worn it fairly extensively. It is an incredibly comfortable coat. It is fairly bulky but that is to be expected. it did take about a month to arrive but given where its coming from that is not surprising (Kazakhstan is far away and U.S. customs is a thing). So far it has been worth every dollar I spent on it (and given the quality I think It would still have been worth it at a hundred dollars more than I spent on it). I admittedly come from a very warm climate so regular wear is considered nuts (I wear it anyway. I like heavy coats). However, It did get me through winter in Austria (which wasn't too cold but i'm not use to cold. very thankful I bought this in advance). My only real issue was one button coming loose (after two months of daily use. so in the end my fault). For its price, this was an incredibly good buy and I expect to be wearing it for years (possibly less than others who buy this. daily wear and tear does count for something.).Also in terms of figuring out my size for those who are curious, I looked at the sizing chart and took some very rough measurements and found what should be the right size. It helped me get what I feel is the right size.

This thing is heavy! Trying it on I got sweaty quick. Feels high quality and looks phenomenal. Overall very happy. It also arrived early for me wich is amazing!Will update when winter hits just how well it keeps me alive. Mine I ordered a couple inches big wich shouldn't be a problem plus who doesn't layer during winter?I'm 6ft 1inch 140lbs for size reference in photos.

The construction far exceeds my expectations. It is heavy, but allows for easy movement. The stitching is solid and the seams are well aligned. The lining tends to "shed" a bit initially as one would expect with a fur product. As someone who easily feels cold, but needs to spend time outdoors irrespective of the weather, I am extremely happy with this coat both for its warmth and value.

Although it is a really nice warm coat, I feel like it wouldn't be very comfortable for me. It was kind of itchy on my skin, but I guess I just have sensitive skin. I returned it within a couple days of purchase. Also, for me, I'm short, but fat, and I found the sleeves were too long because it was for a much larger man. For many, this is a quality item, it just wasn't for me.

First, the good .... this coat is warm. Now the bad.... and it's a list! It runs way too small. I sized it larger than needed according to the instructions. The skins are not all lambswool. Most are GOAT! Toggenburg goat to be exact! I used to raise goats and sheep, and I know the difference! The collar is black, the cuffs are cream colored. The seaming of the skins is poor at best, leaving hard, poky spots to irritate you. Returns? FORGET IT! No refund until the coat makes it's way back to the shipper, AT YOUR EXPENSE! Ya'll know there's a war over there, right?

Love this coat! Extra heavy fur for the coldest nights, or a mountain hike. Is built like a T-34, with thick material and high quality stitching. The quality of tje leather is also excellent! It did run late, but this was due to COVID. The seller was extremely helpful, and even held the package for me until international shipping opened up again. 11/10 would buy again (as sturdy as the coat is though, I doubt that I'll need to)

why two stars???? finish and selection of materials is everything. the coat was finished very well. however, the selection of pelts was poor. for the money you pay the pelts should be{ A }grade. No razor cuts on the Hyde no thin spots on the Hyde and absolutely no bald spots on the pelt. my jack had five razor cuts on the pelts and three bald spots. need to select better materials. use grade A pelts not grade D. All said, I decided to return the coat for a full refund. I expected a high quality item for the price I paid, what I received was very poor overall quality

I contacted the seller in messages to ask for something specific in a coat. Very clear communication, fast turn-around time, and friendly customer service. This is my second coat of this type from the seller, and I wanted something slightly different this time: I love the original/standard coat, and wanted something just a little different for my second, because variety is the spice of life! Now I've got both, love them year-round, and couldn't be happier.
