I am from Turkey and I grew up eating candied chestnuts all my life. Candied chestnuts are a true traditional delicacy which comes in different qualities and styles. Kafkas brand is the oldest and the finest brand which I have always loved. Especially this one, which comes in a box is absolutely superb. Each chestnut is whole, wrapped individually, unbroken, not too sweet or mushy which is very hard to make. Usually you can get them so much cheaper in a jar, soaking in syrup, broken in pieces. Those can be much softer and sweeter. But trust me, this one is the top notch quality, best ones chosen from the whole batch. Now living in USA, I am so happy to be able to get these. My family lives in Turkey and they say they can't find this quality of candied chestnuts locally. Long story short, these are the higher end candied chestnuts and a true treat for candied chestnut lovers like me. I ordered three times and only had great experience. I will definitely order more. Shipping takes few weeks but it is worth the wait!

Not too sweet (good!), mailed from Turkey so takes a while, but arrived well within estimated time.Large box, so not cheap but the value per marron glace is excellent. House rules say not more than one per day per person.

I had never tasted these candies. I didn’t like them much. And they are very expensive.

Not the cheapest but best tasting, unfortunately only available during holiday season.

These were just not very good marrons glacé—especially not for the price.

My husband is French and grew up eating these. He said they were delicious and reminded him of France. We loved them!
