Monamour [Blu-ray]

The first time I saw a TINTO BRASS film (BLACK ANGEL) I knew nothing of him. As i watched i turned to my friend and exclaimed. "WHO MADE THIS!? THIS GUY IS AN ARTIST! I THINK THIS MOVIE WAS MADE JUST FOR ME! LOOK AT THAT USE OF THE CAMERA... THAT'S JUST WHAT I WOULD DO...OH MY GOD!" and before that film was over...I had to have more Tinto Brass and my collection started. This film MONAMOUR is just a true classic. In fact this is my 2nd purchase of this film because my original has been misplaced and in a panic seeing that there was LITERALLY only one copy left to purchase...I made that purchase. This film is great! I like movies with nudity/sex they're GREAT and of course this film is exactly about that...but add in the masterful directing of TINTO BRASS...well now you have a work of an artist and a must have to any connoisseur of the genre.

If you like erotica, buy this movie. If you admire Tinto Brass' expertise, buy this movie. Otherwise, go home and read comic books. Once you watch "Monamour" you will realize that you have been seduced, mesmerized, bewitched and devoured by Anna Jimskaia. She's certainly a goddess and -bless her soul- she defines herself as being an exhibitionist. Can it get any better? Hell no! She's enough woman to satisfy your hunger like forever. She's a lot of woman, all of it beautiful, marvellous and -sadly- I ran out of words. She acts her character with wonderful expertise. She's oh, so seductive, but most of all, she's a dream of a woman. Hard to find in the USA where skinny-anorexic-type females seems to rule. So, be prepared to indulge in a romp of great proportions. And, last but not least, this review referrers to the uncut version of this movie. Somehow, the angels of death amputated about 15 minutes of the original, so don't go for anything else. By the way, your immortal soul will not be condemned to hell if you watch a naked woman; quite the opposite.

Tinto Brass (who, I think, has two too many letters in his last name), as he does in all of his films, really just made a feature-length fetish picture here. And there are positives and negatives to that. Here are the only things that keep this from being a five-star production:1. Body hair. The staggeringly-hot Anna Jimskaia (seriously, one of the hottest women I've ever seen on screen...and I've seen A LOT of them) shaves her legs. Why the heck doesn't she shave under her arms?2. Way too many scenes on toilets. Actually, one is too many if you asked me, and we get no fewer than six in this movie. Again, obviously a Brass fetish.3. There's a VERY well-endowed chick in one scene in a restaurant and we never get to see any more of her. Highly disappointing because she's a scene-stealer.Jimskaia obviously is the big seller here, and she NEVER is fully-clothed in this movie...seriously, not a single time. She's not always fully-nude but she never is fully-clothed either. WOW what a fantastic all-natural body, and she shakes and bounces and gyrates through the entire duration. Now if she'll just groom a little more and stay off of the toilet...

This movie can be regarded as above average soft porn. It clearly bits any stupid, soft porn you will find on cable TV. The story is about a married, very attractive woman that no longer has the pleasant sex she used to with her husband. Guess what, she meets a stranger who provides her with everything she was "missing". At the end, the hot affair serves her to change her husband's attitude and so he manages to provide her once more with the sex she "deserved". Thus, a simple and straightforward argument. Nice aspects of this movie include a splendid use of the camera and photography. Fine acting for this type of movie. Lots of women nudity, straight frontal views of female genitals, some males' too, and lots of good achieved, simulated sex scenes. On the downside, the movie claims it should erotize men and women alike. I seriously doubt that claim. The use of the camera, the time spent on each character and body parts, clearly comes from a male brain. Nothing wrong with it, but readers (or couples) should be aware of it. DVD transfer and audio are indeed superb, nearly Blu Ray quality. Widescreen format, English and Italian audios, English subtitles provided.

Again, this would be a review by a biased fan. This movie is probably one of my favourites - from start to end! - in the whole back catalogue of Maestro, which deserves having it in the best possible quality a blu-ray disc can offer. Also, this release includes Tinto's second to last (so far) work - "Kick the Cock" short, which make it special for the collectors.

This is my first blu-ray erotic movie. The very least I can say is that I am 1000% satisfied. The visual clarity and sound makes this movie one of my alltime favorite in the erotica category. The characters portrayed are quite realistic. Therefore, it makes this movie very authentic as well. I will enjoy watching this many times again!

Here's a quick review. Neither titillating nor arousing, this one disappoints like a penniless pauper @ a bordello on a Friday night. I am being generous by giving it one star.

I think Anna Jimskaia is beautiful and very sexy in this movie. She plays Marta, a sexually unsatisfied wife, who ends up giving in to her desire and wild fantasies. While this movie is about infidelity and deception, it is presented in a very fun and sexy way. I am now a fan of Tinto Brass and will be purchasing more of his movies.
