Aim Optics 3-9X40 A.O. Scope with Rings, Medium, Black

I recently purchased a Ruger Takedown 10/22 and a Colt Competition CRE18. After a lot of research, I decided to purchase the Aim Optics 3-9X40 A.O. Scope with Rings #JTP3940B for the Ruger. I hadn't purchased anything by Aim Optics before and didn't know what to expect, but hoped it would be good enough for the Ruger. When the scope arrived, I was immediately taken back by the exceptional build quality and attention to detal. Looking through the scope, I was equally impressed by the image quality and light transmission. I wondered, how can this be at this price, and with rings and coated lenses? I started to mount the scope on the Ruger, but stopped and decided to mount it on the Colt Ar. I had Iron Sights and a Lucid HD7 Gen III Red Dot already mounted and sighted, but removed them to try the Aim Scope. After sighting, my shots overlapped each other at 50 yards. The sharpness, clarity and brightness is equal to, or better than my four other scopes that were in the $300.00 price range. Aim Sports is a newer company, I later found out, and they must be trying to make a name for themselves in the very competitive riflescope market in the best way possible-exceptional build and optical quality at affordable prices. With Optics, popularity and higher prices usually is a safe bet. If Aim Sports is making any mistake on this scope, it would be pricing it too low to be worth a second look by potential buyers. The lenses on this scope are coated and tinted blue, which increases light transmission,resolution, contrast, and color fidelity. Larger lenses offer greater light transmission and where optical quality, along with weight of the scope are a concern, I favor the40 mm this scope offers. This scope has the A.O. (Adjustable Objective) feature to eliminate parallax. With my eyesight, I've found I really need this feature for a clean, clear sight picture. If you don't need A.O. on a scope, Aim offers a similar scope, without A.O. and rings,the 3-9 x 40 #JT3940G at a lower price. Another reviewer mentioned the scope he received didn't have the advertised P4 Sniper reticle, butmine does. On the Aim Sports Website, the P4 is all that's offered with this scope. It's a plain P4 without MOA information. I don't know what scope the other reviewer received. This scope is the closest thing to a "Free Lunch" that you will find. It's on my AR permanently.A number of people have asked, what sunshade fits this scope? I took a chance and ordered a Barska 3" sunshade for 40mm scopes, #AF11550 from Amazon and it fits perfectly and looks great on the scope.

Nice scope with decent optics for this price range. One big problem the P4 reticle design obscures the target quite a bit. The lines are very thick and close together. The one I received lost zero after 40 shots or so. I had to return it.

This scope is ok for the price. Clear sight picture.Fast focus works well. Adjustable objective is a little stiff (some scopes loosen up with use as others do not). Nice little compact scope for the price.I rated it 1 star simply because of this------>Magnification is 3X-9X Tube diameter is 1" Objective is 40 MM Reticle is a P4 sniper Eye relief is 3.5"THIS SCOPE DOES NOT COME WITH A P4 RETICLE.........i REPEAT......THIS SCOPE DOES NOT COME WITH A P4 RETICLE... I hope i save someone some disappointment on this scope as i was all ready to mount it till i looked through it saw the same crappy chinese crosshairs that they put in all the chinese generic scopes a DUPLEX. BUY AMERICAN!

Fair quality build and decent optics for price. Would not trust it on a magnum springer aiŕgun.
