I have a 16# Miniature Pincher/Chihuahua mix who definitely likes to be covered up (sleeps under the covers at night and loves lap time covered with an afghan any time I let him). Thought this would be the perfect bed. He will go inside and lay down if we have the bed on the couch and sit next to him, has only gone it once on his own on the floor, but loves to sit on top of it. It is very good quality, and the extra thick pad keeps him up off the cold floor. Will work with him more to get him use to going inside, but agree with previous reviewers that there is a small design flaw in that the opening does not stay upright more encouraging the dog to actually enter it. I think once they realize it is snuggly and warm inside they will get the idea. A bit pricey for how it turned out but will not return it.
