This product is amazing. Perfect barrier for the rooftop cargo that I needed to travel from California to Washington to Idaho and finally to Utah. No scratches and the rooftop cargo did not slide. Perfect buy and worked great. The price was the lowest of the items and I am pleasantly surprised with the quality.

Traveled hundreds of miles. Stayed in place under roof bag, No damage to car or mat.

I was using a cartop carrier without a rack and wanted to protect my new car. This was a great size, plenty thick, and it stayed in place for a thousand miles driving pretty fast. I cut a small strip off to use pieces of it for the window anchors. Those also stayed in place and protected the finish.

December 2023: Super slow shipping 3 weeks it took.Simple product literally like drawer or cabinet liner mesh. Zero expectation of durability if you leave it on your car.I only bought it because the price was largely discounted and I read similar reviews.Otherwise this item i overpriced especially based on the absurd shipping timeJanuary 2024:Seller reached out to rectify my concerns. We used this under a roof bag on a recent road trip and it worked really well! Gave us the comfort to know things in our bag wouldn’t scratch the roof of the car and also gave us extra comfort knowing it would help prevent the bag from slipping. Held up well to wind and rain—no issues at all!

I used this on my roof to go under my soft cargo box. I didn't notice any scratches but it barely stayed on the roof. It often would slide to the back of the cargo bag. It might work it might not.

We are so happy that we bought this for our trip. Seven people were able to get all their luggage in this one bag on top of the car That way we could put the third row up and still all go together in one vehicle. It changed the wind dynamic a bit but did not move 1 inch over 800 miles.

I used this product to protect my 2021 VW Tiguan’s roof from a roof bag on a nearly 5000km journey. It did it’s job, protecting the roof, and did it well. It was a fair bit larger than my roof bag so I was expecting it to flap about and require trimming to size. On the test drive my suspicions were almost confirmed, when that familiar slapping sound started almost as soon as I hit the highway. To my surprise though that noise stopped by the end of my 30km test drive. The corners actually folded over and found their own equilibrium so I didn’t end up trimming it at all!The only major downside was trying to get everything centred once the roof bag was atop this mat, manipulating the bag caused it to bunch up in places but a little extra shuffling and I had it flat again. Other than this, and the sheer quantity of bugs! (Not the mat’s fault, travelling across Canada in mid June will do that) it worked flawlessly for me.For peace of mind on a long journey, I think this product is well worth the money. It protected the roof, helped hold the bag in place and honestly didn’t make installing the bag all that much more difficult. I’m not sure I would bother using it on shorter trips though, as it does add an extra 5-10 minutes by the time you include adjusting to centre.
