Nov 2020 refurb
Best in class. You can pay a lot more for a little better. It has been in service in our BackYard DriveIn since Nov 2020.Screen is a cinder block wall painted grey for uniformity. We have a RoseBrand pro-theater screen which we no longer bother to put up.Comparing to previous Epson UB picture is phenomenal on cinder block wall.

Excellent video quality but beware of stuck pixels.
I had an Epson HD projector that I was happy with, but it had an issue where the lamp occasionally would not light on power up and the light would go out right in the middle of a movie. Very annoying.I decided to replace the Epson with this BenQ projector to avoid the lamp problems and at the same time move up to 4k video. I found a unit on Amazon that was a bit less expensive than most sellers and ordered it. When I received it I realized there was no warranty card included. This must have been a gray market unit. I was concerned but decided to install it anyway. The picture quality on my 120” screen was outstanding and I was very happy. I forgot about the warranty issue. Then I noticed a stuck pixel near the right edge. Annoying but I zoomed the image out a bit so the dead pixel was on my screen’s black surround. Problem “solved”. Then a few months later another stuck pixel appeared in a part of the image I couldn’t ignore. These bad pixels produce a very annoying, constant white dot in the image. For now I’m living with it but it drives me crazy. I may look into paying for a repair at some point. So it’s a good unit, but be sure you are getting one with a supported warranty. It’s worth paying a few bucks more.

4K upgrade Projector
I upgraded from the BenQ WXGA with gave off a nice picture when watching movies on my screen. But this BenQ HT5550 is amazing! Great colors and easy to use. My friends and I have been enjoying watching movies even more thru this projector.

Great buy
Great quality projector. I had a 82” 4K tv in my media room and after seeing my brother in laws BenQ 4K I knew I had to get one. I am amazed at the picture coming from this projector. You will not be disappointed! Packaged well.

BenQ Referbished.
Half of the picture looked GREAT! The left half had white vertical bars. They showed up even without any input to projector. I googled it and found the DLP chip was failing. This was FACTORY REFERBISHED. Not sure how they could miss these lines. I have only had one other BenQ monitor for gaming 144hz. After a year it started flickering. I still use it but it's annoying. I will probably buy this same projector again (NEW) in a few months because it has the HUGE adjustment range for mounting. With white lines it was tough to get a full sense of how great the image could be... Not so happy with BenQ...

Costly but worth every penny
Definitely the best projector under 3000 dollars

noisy lens
picture looks good, however when the screen image changes brightness and color the projector makes low freq. noises. The air vents also leak light so if your planning on a ceiling mount in a dark room it is distracting.

Great Picture - Noisy Lens and light bleed present
As others have stated, this picture is pretty darn good. It’s not the brightest projector. Best to use in a dark room or dedicated theater. Picture is clear and sharp. Lens makes noise for sure, not sure why that has to be so loud, pretty odd. The light bleed on picture angle adjustments is very weird. So if your projector is mounted too high and you need to correct the picture angle to fit x and y axis perfectly, you can do this… however there is still light showing for the original picture angle… so your movie will play just fine fitted perfectly but outside of your screen you will see faint light for the original unaltered angle. Pretty annoying.
