Works better, them any moisture cream I have ever tried. Even the expensive ones!!
I have tried expensive cream for my face, but started using Crisco. This sounds , weird, but it works better, then any cream I have ever tried, and it costs a lot less.

Great for old school cooking !
I've found myself going back to the way cooking was done when I was a kid, you can't beat fried chicken made with Crisco in a cast iron pan.Ps. I also use this to season my cast iron pots and pans !

Consistent Results For Years.
My Grandmother has been using Crisco Vegetable shortening for longer then she can remember an exact time. A rough estimate would be the last sixty years. She has used it for baking and frying the most.Although we began using Butter Crisco for a lot of baking she wants a good "plain" crust for her Pumpkin Pies , she will only use Crisco for her crusts. I have to admit her crust is my favorite when it comes to pumpkin pie. She also fries chicken and home fries in Crisco they are very good. She also uses Crisco on her cast iron cookware. If she gets a new cookware or bakeware that needs seasoning. She uses Crisco. She believes it to be one of the best products as far as shortening goes.I haven't used anything else but agree it gets consistent results. I would recommend this product to others.

PANTRY STAPLE FOR GENERATIONS
I got s kick out of watching the food network one day. They featured a coo-I mean "Chef" who had some high brow resteraunt in the Hamptons-and he was making fried chicken using tons of weird hard to find spices, using a marinade with another list of the spices you most certainly do not own and deep frying it in peanut oil.Too many uneccesary steps and ingredients.I am known for my fried chicken. It's the same way my Mom cooked it,and her Mom. And the must have is CRISCO ahotetm

Crico All Vegetable Shortening, 48 ounce
Crisco is the one my mother use and her mother before her. When it comes to all vegetable shortening you can not be Crisco. Piecrust is the flakiest without a greasy taste. could not do holiday baking without this red, white and blue can. How could I make biscuits without my Crisco and when it comes to French Fried foods I always use this. On a cold morning there is nothing like a hot beignet with some homemade jam...we like doing a cookie swap and this is the vegetable shortening for the best cookies. Another thing I like Crisco for is getting the rubber ring on my pressure cooker ready for canning by rubbing some of the shortening on the ring with a paper towel. This makes for easier removal of the lid once the pressure has gone down.

Must use for pies
I have used Crisco for 50 years for my pie crusts. Every year my hospital does a holiday bake sale people line up for my pies.

Ok I guess
not opened. Not expired. Not damaged. For what this is I guess it's okay. I don't use this product any more of a daughter wanting to make icing at home from scratch. Because the icing we ordered was opened and not usable. I think this is a bit high $ but I haven't bought it in a few years.

The Great American Vegetable Shortening
Excellent product. If you like to bake, you absolutely need this. Easier to spread than oil, and it stays in place, unlike vegetable oil, which does not give the sides of your pan very good coverage. Also easier to wipe off of your fingers with your favorite kitchen cooking towel. I mean, who has time to turn around to wash their hands while they are creating a masterpiece? Plenty of time for that after the pan goes into the oven.
