Isometric Power Exercises for Martial Arts: Build Superior Strength, Muscle and Martial Arts ‘Firepower’ Using the Proven System Bruce Lee Used

One of the best books on isometrics I have ever read.
For more than 7 decades I have been a martial art and combat fitness enthusiast, having tried numerous fitness routines, (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Boxing, Tactical Aerobics, Military/SEAL workout programs, weight training, HIIT routines, Tabata workouts, Isometric programs and many other rugged combative fitness programs), to help improve my strength, power and endurance levels.Even though I am well into my senior years I still try to keep up with any developments in the fitness and martial art/MMA fields. This is why when I saw this 277-page soft cover book, (Isometric Power Exercises for Martial Arts: build superior strength, muscle and martial arts “firepower” using the proven system Bruce Lee used by Helen Renee Wuoria and Brian Sterling-Vete, Ph.D.), on Amazon I had to purchase it.Over the years I have read quite a bit on the value of doing Isometric exercises and I am happy to see this method of gaining strength and power seems to have made a comeback when it comes to being a popular fitness program. It’s not that it ever went away but you did not hear about isometrics in the past as you do in the present-day fitness popularity. In any case, this is one of the very best books I have ever read on the use of isometrics to not only gain strength and power but has routines that will relate directly to your martial arts training as well. This excellent book covers in great detail what isometrics is, the science behind strength and power building with isometrics, the amount of time you should do each isometric exercise, the various kinds of things you can use as exercise routines for isometrics. For example, you can purchase specific exercise devices to do isometrics, but you can employ a martial arts belt, a towel, rope, a chair, the wall and numerous other things to do isometric exercises. If you are a martial artist, isometrics is fantastic for building strength and power without interfering with your martial arts training. I recommend this book for not just martial artists, but anyone who desires a simple and effective way to build strength and power using isometrics.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. The authors know their isometric onions
I bought this book out of curiosity, and was pleasantly surprised. The text is well written - as clear as a dumbbell - and easy to follow. And the authors know their isometric onions: for example, Sterling-Vete has an impeccable background in both strength training and martial arts (four black belts and several Guinness World Records). It’s an excellent book and strength training programme. Recommended!
