Vinyl LP pressing including 10 tracks from this ground-breaking show. 2014 live release from the Americana rocker. John Mellencamp's TROUBLE NO MORE was released in June 2003, received with universal critical acclaim and a #1 debut on Billboard's Blues chart. Featuring Mellencamp and his band's spirited take on American Folk and Blues classics, the album was recorded and mixed in just 17 days, capturing the sessions' bounding energy. A month after the release, Mellencamp performed this acclaimed studio album plus additional songs, including stripped-down versions of Mellencamp's 'Small Town,' 'Paper in Fire' and 'Pink Houses', as well as Bob Dylan's 'Highway 61 Revisited' for a sold-out audience at New York's Town Hall.

2 factors that make this album so good: 1
2 factors that make this album so good: 1. Trouble No More is a very good album. A lot of the songs on this album were not written by Mellencamp. These are other American songwriters from older blues songs to recent. This provides a refreshing punch to the story lines of his songs. 2. Mellencamp is a very good performer. He delivers these songs with a tight, rich presentation. Trouble No More was a pivotal album for Mellencamp in helping him to define the sound and tone of the autumn of his career. JM and his band deliver an amazing performance on this album. The stripped down version of Small Town is a special surprise. There are not many live recordings of Mellencamp. This is well worth a purchase.

Live rootsy Mellencamp
Good live rare as John Mellencamp did not perform this material very often... but it gives a glimpse of it's potential and the roots of what he was trying to do at the time for a very limited audience so we can all hear now. This is not the Mellencamp of the rocking days though this is the beginning of the rough voiced older Mellencamp we have heard in most of his new material over the last dozen years or so... and for those that like that challenge it's here to enjoy

Bet You Can't Listen Just Once
I am by no means a John Mellencamp fan but I stumbled across this album and the description was intriguing. This is now my favorite set of tunes. The album features great live performances of blues, country, and folk tunes and proves to me the power of "roots" music. Mellencamp's voice suits the material, as does the band. One of my tests for musical quality is whether it stands up to repeated listening - this album passes that test with flying colors.

Four Stars
Great rocking blues album. Not your typical Mellencamp album, and I am surprised by how good it is.

Best Live concert CD of John Mellencamp
Best Live concert CD of John Mellencamp, you can feel the energy, the interaction and the creative differentversions of "Smalltown" and "Pink Houses.. the "Trouble No More " Cd album set is fabulous and the tweak John does on Bob Dylan's "Highway 62 Revisited" is fine considering it was 2003..Hope his upcoming tour and Studio CD are as good as this ..Highly Recommend it for ALL Mellencamp fans, a Must Have..

This one is a keeper
This is an absolutely fantastic live album. A relatively simple recording and a great performance that in my opinion is well worth the investment for any Mellencamp fan. The variety of music is both outstanding and refreshing and shows just how truly talented he is. This Indiana boy CAN sing the blues and is a teller of tales that touch us all. John, it's truly a pleasure to listen to you.

John needs to challenge himself once again!
John always comes through no matter what! However he's not died yet! This guy still has it in him to rock it out! I would love for john to challenge himself to make another creative rock album! I bet if he did, he would be back on the charts and show everybody that he's still and always been a rocker at heart!!

Unbedingte Kaufempfehlung!

Only 1 of 2 shows on the 'tour' for this record, the background of which is discussed at some length in the booklet that accompanies the CD.More than interesting background. One very amazing artist, with an incredible catalogue of work.We will have the pleasure of seeing Mellencamp & band again here in Toronto, Ontario on May 1st/2015 as part of the 80+ concert tour next year.Purchase this record!

JM on top form
The studio album was very good but these versions work so much better. The 'extra' songs work well in these versions as well.
