First thing to know right off is that when you open your package the company sends a card inside that offers you a free gift if you submit a review that "meets their requirements." Of course their requirements are that you have to leave a 5 star review and tell everyone how amazing the brushes are. Well people will do anything for something for free so keep that in mind when reading the reviews for this product. Now here is my honest review. - The case that these brushes come in is great. The brushes themselves are okay. The kabuki foundation brush is not dense nor stiff enough to efficiently distribute foundation. Because the bristles are too soft, the foundation tends to sink down into the bottom of the bristles instead of sitting on top like its supposed to. When you're using $40 foundation, that's an issue with waste. Also it ends up looking streaky. I'm using the large tapered foundation brush for now until I can purchase another kabuki foundation brush. The EC001 and the ES007 are both too scratchy to use on your eyes. The are not soft at all. The blush brush I do use. The F004 long tapered foundation I also use to apply contour. All of the brushes are sturdy and feel good in your hand. Nice full size length. - I do like that its an American company which is a huge reason why I purchased to begin with. And there are a few useful brushes in here. And at the price point, Id be willing to order a different set by the Shany brand to give them another chance. However, on the whole this brush set is nothing to exciting.

I am going to try helping you out by doing two reviews in 1. I was indecisive on which makeup kit to purchase so I decided to buy both and would give one of them to a friend. Both kits arrived ahead of schedule and together which made it easy to review this quickly.For starters, I am not a makeup expert and could be considered a beginner trying to play around with more now that I am getting older.To be honest, I love the overall brushes and how it has the name of brush written on each one. The softness of the brushes are amazing and it feels great on my skin.Unfortunately, that is where my love for this kit ends. I was excited because of how it displayed the brushes but you have to be extremely careful putting it up or other brushes will fall out. Even when packing it up, you'll need to carry it sideways because they will still fall out. I purchased this kit because of how it displayed the brushes, so I have to admit that I am disappointed. I will probably remove them from the case and put them in a different make up bag.Speaking of the bag, I have attached a picture of both kits side by side. This bag looks like it is an old CD holder...that was purchased at the dollar store. The other is more visually appealing.I am not saying to purchase the other makeup brush kit over this one, just stating the pros and cons. While the other is more attractive, it does not name the brushes like this kit. They both carry 2 completely different brush sets so overall, I am not disappointed. Just please don't buy this if you are using it for the display factor, because you will be disappointed.

I have never been less than completely satisfied with a Shany product. I bought my daughter a train case for her makeup, and it was great quality and very durable, for a reasonable price. I made the mistake of buying another brand for my wife and it lacked quality.As for the Shany brushes, this is our third set. Both their natural and synthetic brushes are fantastic. They are reasonable, they tend not to shed much, if at all, and they are very soft on the skin.The Pros of this set are obvious: great quality, fantastic selection of brushes, nice case, and very reasonable price. The only con to this set is not owning it!This set is perfect if you want some common brushes, but are really looking for eye shadow brushes. There are at least 6 brushes specifically designed for eye shadow, along with a few others you could use on lids and around eyes as well.The case is nice, and holds all the brushes, which are labeled on their shaft. I really like that feature, so the brush tells you its intended use, rather than a separate piece of paper or the case, etc.You can also keep the case folded open and it will support itself upright.I have seen some people say the brushes are made in the USA. I believe they are made in China, in case that matters to you.Any Shany brush set we have owned has worn exceptionally well and I expect no different from this one. These are great brushes, and for the price absolutely incredible.
