An Eye On Ears
Notoco 1408 PETSCOPE Ear Scope Otoscope Being a home groomer to two Goldendoodles I learned that I need to take maticulous care of my dogs' ears. Because my dogs are one half Poodle hair grows inside their ears that needs to be plucked routeinly. Also their ears hang down making it an ideal place to have problems, so I decided to purchase the Notoco 1408 PETSCOPE to help me keep an eye on the condition of their ears. The $27.50 I paid seemed a fair price to pay for a home groomer and the ear scope works great as I can see every thing I need to; however the viewing tips have a tendency to fall off since they are made to snap onto the scope. I would have prefered the tips screwed into the scope to make the tips more secure. Purchased through Amazon.com

hurt his ears
I ordered this for my 14 lb mini poodle. It's so hard to use this and try to look in his ears too. It seemed painful to him when I tried to insert it. The tip has like a sharp point to it. If it hurts my furbaby Earnie then it won't be used. Also, it has to be turned on by twisting it in the middle of the devise and it's very awkward to try to insert it and not accidentally twist it off. Thankyou, Ginger Rogers

Terrific tool for the average pet owner
Sure, professional tools are better, but I gave it five stars because it was intended for the average pet owner, and for us, it does a great job.

works good
It is great for looking in my dog's ears & nose for fox tails. this will save a high vet. bill if you can hold thr dog still.

Good product for the price
Good product for the price. It feels a little cheap in-hand, but it totally works and does what it needs to do. My only real complaint is that the velcro on the case was affixed using a very poor adhesive. We ditched the case entirely because the velcro came off pretty much immediately after receiving the package. I stuck it back on, but the next time I picked up scope in its case I got goopy adhesive all over my hand (it was a pretty warm day and I guess it melted?), so we just stuck the scope and its tips in a ziploc bag.

Beats taking them to the vet all of the time ...
Beats taking them to the vet all of the time, most thing you can do yourself if you think about it.

Better than the average scope, but four stars, not five.
Better than the average scope. This is built ruggedly and I expect it to last a long time. The quality is excellent. I have two complaints. One is that the bulb should be LED, not incandescent, but that's hardly a deal breaker. The other is that you twist to turn it on/off, instead of having a switch. The problem is that turning it on/off is a two handed operation, and one hand is on the dog. So I set it down with it on and when both hands are free, turn it off. Should be better.
