Union Square & Co. Animal Kingdom Coloring Postcards: 50 Postcards (A Millie Marotta Adult Coloring Book)

Fans of Millie Marotta's beautiful designs for coloring will absolutely love these cards. This is a nice boxed set of 50 different postcard-size images produced on heavyweight cardstock.I was first introduced to Millie Marotta's work with the  Animal Kingdom: Color Me, Draw Me (A Millie Marotta Adult Coloring Book) , and you'll find many of the same images here, only smaller -- small enough to fit into a bag for on-the-go coloring.Since these are postcards, you needn't worry about ruining an image on the reverse due to bleed-through as the design is printed on one side only (the reverse has a spot for the address, a message, and a stamp). This means that you can use markers to color these, in addition to pencils and gel pens. Bear in mind, however, that the images contain VERY tiny details. You'll need fine-point markers (or sharp pencils) to stay within the lines.I'm enjoying working on these (I'm using Staedtler Triplus Fineliners) and plan to frame several. There are 20 bird images, 12 insects, 9 mammals, 9 other (fish, reptiles, amphibians, etc.). Truly something for everyone. Just be aware that the fine details loved by fans of Millie Marotta's books are even smaller/finer details when reduced to postcard size.

When I discovered the postcard-style of "coloring books" it was a dream come true for me. I don't always like coloring big pages -- too impatient I guess. So I got a few of the postcard books and have been happy.You can certainly use these as postcards, but seeing as I never send letters, that is not how I plan to use them. They are strictly for my coloring pleasure.The paper used is very nice; lightweight cardstock. Naturally, alcohol inks will bleed through, but I've had luck with water-based markers and gel pens (and of course, colored pencils).Millie's work is very detailed in her large books, and even more so in these postcards. While I didn't have a particular issue with the detail, I could see where it would be too small for many. I do need to use reading glasses to get to the smaller details.This purchase was a good value; there are 50 cards, which is a good deal more than have been in all the other postcard coloring books. I am happy that I decided to buy this set of coloring postcards.

This is a great little boxed set. The details are intricate and the designs are postcard size but that is why I like them. I looked at the full size book of animal kingdom but it was too busy and pictures were on both sides of the paper, which I don't like. The postcard box is cute and it's portable and can fit in my purse. I wont use them as postcards I just wanted something small and portable that had interesting pictures and details. It's fun to use gel pens in glitter, neons, metallic and earth tones to use to color the details of the postcards. I also use ultra fine sharpies. The quality of the postcard paper is like good cardstock. The designs are intricate ( small areas to color ) but not nearly as busy as the full size coloring book. Highly recommend these if you want something portable or smaller than a book or even to send as postcards ( I would've bought this cute box even if they were not postcards).

These are beautiful postcards. They are actual postcard with address lines and stamp outline on the back. They are made of a cardstock comparable to the average postcard but their size is slightly larger. They come in a strong storage box that has a flip lid and will help protect the cards. Each image is very detailed though some people who don't have good eyes or good hand-eye coordination may find the images too small to color. The small spaces make very sharp pencils, gel pens or very fine tip markers work best. If you don't mind coloring small areas these cards are perfect for all occasions and you can't beat getting 50 of them for the price!

I truly wanted to mark these postcards five stars, and they are definitely worth it! These are such beautiful cards...and PORTABLE! Thank you, thank you for realizing that adults can't "adult" while lugging around big coloring books all day. The cards are PERFECT!The four stars is because the box I received it in broke apart, and messed up the organization. Not only that, I haven't colored in one of these cards at all! I opened the plastic, had it on a shelf to enjoy the artistry, and one day I picked it up and the box was broken (the corner). I love the cards and the box so much, that I performed surgery--using super glue and holding the box pressed together for a while! Received in September, surgery in October I think, and here in December, the box has broken apart again. So I had to come and make a review noting that issue. I would definitely pay an even $15 to have a special, durable box for these cards. They are a beautiful gift...a valued present...and such wonderful art! I love these, but just need a stronger box.Otherwise, these cards are beautiful and I'm *this close* to buying the other card sets...I just need to make sure that box won't break apart.Thank you so much!

I have both sets of a different artist's postcards, which are only a book of 20 for around $10. This is a set of 50 for around $13. I don't plan on using them as actual postcards, but will be coloring them in for myself. This set also comes in a very nice box, which is where I plan to store the ones that I don't frame. The cards themselves are printed on heavy paper and are mostly a nice section of the pics from the book of the same name. This is an awesome set that would make an excellent gift for anyone who likes adult coloring books...the quality is just that good! :-)This product was a personal purchase for myself at the normal retail price.
