Clicker works, but the dog whistle unscrews itself with every step you take. It will inevitably fall off. You better hope it falls off when you're walking on pavement because if you're on grass, you'll never hear it (happened to me).Knowing it was inevitable, I cut a small piece of tape to hold the part that unscrews itself together. That worked brilliantly, except that it caused a secondary part (below the part I taped) to unscrew itself. That one fell off in a park and I never found it. So now I have 2/3 of a whistle, which intrigues my dog at best. She turns her head as if to ask, "Uh...what was that? Was that you?"When the whistle was intact, it worked wonderfully. No matter where she was, the second she heard that whistle, she instinctively knew what she needed to do. The first time I blew it, she ran to me, sat on her own, and gave me a look that said, "Yes? You called? What do you need? Can I help you with something?" All the while wagging her tail, happy to be of service.The book is no good. If you have never had a dog before, then it's a pretty good manual. Kind of like if you've never had a blender before. The manual will help you immensely. But if you already know how to operate a blender (or dog), and you need to know how to get the most out of your blender (or dog) then the book is no good. I tossed it within a minute or two of reading it, and I'm not the greatest dog trainer. I was actually looking for actual tips on how to train your dog. A step-by-step to teach you at least the 5 most basic tricks.All in all 2 out of the 3 things that I paid for have gone by the wayside within a few months. The only thing I have left is the clicker which, to be fair, clicks when I press it.

The kit itself is packaged well and over very all nice. However, I thought the whistle was suppose to be ultrasonic that only my dog would hear and it isn't. Either the whistle in my kit is defective or it isn't actually a "dog whistle" but a regular whistle. The whistle does get his attention, just wish it wasn't a regular whistle. So if you aren't looking for an actual dog whistle, then I would recommend this kit, everything in it is very nice.

The whistle screw part is loose and the actual whistle has already fallen from the key chain 2x while walking the dogs. Right now it is tapped with package tape to keep it together . It is of poor workmanship.Also the training manual is written in such small font that its hard to read with reading glasses on plus a magnifier glass. Not a quality product at all!. Very disappointed with the overall quality of your product... I cannot recommend it, basically a waste of $!!

I haven't had the chance to use the kit yet as we won't have our pup until mid February. Still, I've read through the book, and tried out the whistle, clicker, and small collar light. Everything seems great and I look forward to training my future pup in a cruel free and effective way. Thanks!

Honestly, I've gotten more use out of the manual than I have the whistle and clicker, but my semi unruly dog is 10 years old and it seems I'm just too easy on him. Still, the manual, has been a great help so for that, I'm still giving 4 stars.

I could hear the whistle...the whole point of buying this product was for it to be a ultrasonic dog whistle, meaning I can't hear it, only the dogs can, but it sounded just like a regular whistle. I am grateful for the easy return.

Not a whistle that only a dog can hear as I expected, just a plain whistle being sold as something else

When I read the term "ultrasonic whistle" I assumed it was a high frequency whistle especially made for a dog's auditory system - wrong. The whistle is just that a whistle. It is distracting and annoying to humans. Children are startled and sometimes downright frightened when it is used. The only creature in the house that isn't phased by the whistle is the dog; he couldn't care less when it is blown. Very disappointed in is product.
