In my case, moving from the recommended 180 degree thermostat in a 2003 KIA Spectra 1.8L engine to a 195 degree solved a known problem causing a check engine light indicating the engine is not warming up as quickly as it should in cold weather. The 195 degree model let the engine reach operating temperature much faster than before. This gave me heat faster as well. Instrument panel temp guage reads the same or slightly higher when driving but still stays well within normal range. As with any vehicle, make sure the antifreeze/coolant is at the proper mixture and that the other cooling system components are in proper working order. It worked fine for me but don't use the 195 degree model vs. the 180 if you don't think you need to or are uncomfortable deviating from the factory specified model as you would be doing so completely at your own risk and peril. Fit my 1996 NA Miata perfectly. Works fine. Did not have the "rattle" in the air bleeder hole as per original thermostat, cannot determine if this really makes a significant difference. Price was competitive. I've used Stant parts over many years and have never had a problem with one. Trusted brand.

Replace the thermostat in my 1995 Mazda Miata with this one and now my car heats up to temperature like it supposed to. I did not realize that my old one was broken until I put this new one in. What more can I say about it? It works...

It works perfectly. Just be sure to get a gasket for it.

Does not fit 1990 Montero with 3.0 6G72.It is too long and interferes with the thermostat housing.
