In the Kitchen with Kris: A Kollection of Kardashian-Jenner Family Favorites

Good Recipes, Beautiful Pictures, Clear Instructions, Worthwhile Purchase
I ordered this cookbook because I saw Kris Jenner discussing it on The Talk, and liked the sample dishes (grilled swordfish with spicy salsa, lemon chiffon pie) that were demonstrated. It seemed the recipes would be simple to make without too many ingredients. I thought she did a pleasant job of talking about the book.I am not familiar with the Kardashians, although I know they are in the news a lot because of a cable TV show, they are outside my usual rut. I have read the cookbook all the way through and marked recipes to try. I think the extremely negative reviews are because people don’t like her public persona, are probably jealous of her wealth, and are NOT a fair assessment of the book. Even though Kris is at a point in her life where she now has a chef, she does know how to cook, went to cooking school immediately after marrying Mr. Kardashian at age 22, and has an extensive cookbook collection. These recipes have the ring of truth as far as personal recipes are concerned. She has an interesting little story or tidbit of information about each recipe and how it came to be.I only saw one recipe by the late Nicole Brown Simpson so I do not agree with other reviewers that Kris is profiting from Nicole’s fame or demise. My take on it is that including the recipe was a tribute to a friend who became a crime victim, and hopefully that tribute will live on after her murderer has departed this earth. Kris and Robert Kardashian lived in an area, and traveled in the kind of social circles, where associating with well-known people was commonplace. I find it interesting to read about other people’s lifestyles and food choices.I thought the book opened with a touching recipe, telling how one of her daughters prepared Mr. Kardashian’s cream of wheat when he was dying of esophageal cancer. A couple of Armenian recipes are included from his side of the family. Kris is up front talking about recipes she created because she was inspired by a delicious dish for which she did not have the recipe. She also openly acknowledges where she got various other recipes. There seem to be quite a few Italian recipes as well as interesting variations on comfort food. The book has all the usual food group headings, gorgeous photography, and clear instructions. Even on the few recipes where there is a long list of ingredients, none of them are weird or difficult to obtain at the grocery store. The book also has a good table of contents as well as an index making recipes easy to find. The section on table settings is brief and pleasant, and I found other reviewers’ negative comments on this section puzzling. Have we really sunk so low into a fast food mentality? It does not represent very much of the book. My own grandmother inspired me to cultivate nice table settings so I think this was a nice thing to include.I highly recommend the book as a worthwhile purchase at a reasonable price, and something that can actually be used in the kitchen for years to come.

Good Basic Recipes- Charming Pics of the Kardashian/Jenner Clan
I am not sure why there are any bad reviews for this book other than it appears those people just dislike Kris Jenner (then why would they order her book...but I digress) The recipe for lamb kabobs (even though I used beef) was absolutely delicious. I found her recipes to be basic, delicious and user friendly recipes that a mother would typically cook for her family or for gatherings. I thought the pictures of the family were really cute inside. You can definitely tell that feeding her family and having large gatherings is really important to her. There are a few recipes with expensive ingredients (truffle butter) but the majority (chicken nachos) are basic and delicious. She also makes adjustments for some of the more expensive or not readily found ingredients.

A great family cookbook!
We bought this cookbook as something of a joke (because my teenager is a fan of the show) but were surprised by the number of great recipes!Tasty but nothing too gourmet. Easy to prepare dishes such as fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and lemon chiffon pie. Honestly, this is one of the more accessible celebrity cookbooks I've seen. (No ingredients you will have to buy and then never use again/just use for that recipe or hard-to-find ingredients or instructions.) It's just good, normal food for the most part with some dressed up recipes for special meals.

Nice favorites I am looking forward to try!
Nice book and great pictures. Great price. There just were not as many recipes as I would have hoped for since not all of them are ones I’ll use.

Surprisingly bland for the buck.
Okay, we can all slam the Kardashian's for all overexposure, blah, blah, blah. Let's just look at the cookbook for what it is and not for just for who wrote it. First, let me state, I don't watch the Kardashians. I bought the cookbook after Kris did press on a local radio show I listen to. She told nice stories about eating with family, table settings and themed dinners, so I was peaked for reason that there would be some dynamite photography in the book. There wasn't. The recipes are nice, surprisingly, simple. It is, after all, a family cookbook. Upon first glance inside, I notice there was too much white space in the pages because the recipes were simple and text was spaced out to fill the pages. It simply needed more visual. I was hoping for MUCH MUCH MORE photography on table setting ideas and visually putting to life the stories she told while doing press for the book. As someone who buys ALOT of cookbooks for the simple reason that they have become works of art in photography, this fell way short. For someone who's life is so visible, this cookbook was not.

Literary Masterpiece
This is up there with the greats. Hopefully my petition to the local school board is successful. All children should read it.

Interesting to read. A kardashian family style book. ...
Interesting to read. A kardashian family style book. Recipes are rather ordinary. I'm sure most of us have a collection of recipes that are as special.

If you don't like Kris Jenner (Kardashian) don't buy HER cookbook
Let's face it: there are a billion other cookbooks you can buy. If you don't like Kris Jenner (Kardashian) don't buy HER cookbook. You will not like it. You do not like her. You don't even follow her or care anything about the information she might write in the book. I am a Kardashian fan, so getting a little glimpse into her dishes was fun. I think she's a great mom that loves her kids and shared some of her recipes with us. I think it's great.

HOLY MOTHER JESUS! Just read the review
Absolutely insane recipes and can’t grumble at the price. I gave this to my grandma after she’d watched a few episodes of the kardashians and found a love for kris. She loves the sprouts and many other recipes! Amazing cosy, cute and totally instagram-able food! Grandma has bought it for her 3 sisters and Olive, her next door neighbour and apparently all love it! Couldn’t recommend the book enough! Jamie Oliver eat your heart out!
