Ancient, Strange, and Lovely (The Dragon Chronicles)

Bad, bad, bad
I don't usually write reviews for things, but I felt I really needed to for this one.I felt like I was strung along on a semi-dull adventure. Near the end, things start to get interesting.... and then the book ends. There were no answers to anything. Nothing is really resolved. Characters were introduced that REALLY had no point (*coughJoshcough*coughGandalfcough*). Everything "resolved" was explained to you in the end rather than experiencing it. It had a lot of lazy writing (especially at the end).I feel like I wasted my time reading this, which is a shame because I adored the first and second book (and generally appreciated the third). If you are a fan of the previous 3, don't ruin the series for yourself by reading this. Please. Also, I t's ridiculous to have this be a part of the "dragon chronicles" if there are so few dragons in it...SPOLER ALERT:Things that had a hurried non-resolution and would have been actually INTERESTING to read about:-Where the heck did Josh go after the dragon took off? What happened with his crazy poacher father and sociopathic brother? Did they all get arrested? Did Josh ever get found out for being a creeper (Keeping Bryn's mom's phone and all)? Did he ever reunite with Bryn?-Where was Mama Dragon hiding all this time? Where did she go? Was she the last dragon (excepting of course "the critter")?-Why couldn't Bryn TALK to the mama dragon? (Oh sure she could "ken" with it, but there was no conversation) What was the critter's (really?! There was no better name to call him!?) name? What was Mama's name?-Is Bryn a descendant of Kara or Lyf?-What happened as soon as Mama Dragon left? How did they elude the poachers and fans of Anderson's blog?-What happened with Gandalf? Was he really a character with no real purpose?-Is there still a secret northern island of the dragons? Is that where Mama flew to?-Did they manage to actually fix the environment? With what?-Did Sasha move with Bryn to.... to.... Where did Bryn's family end up living?-What was the mysterious illness that the critter suffered from? Did one dose of dragon's milk cure it? What caused it in the first place? Was it all the cheese he was eating?-Was Bryn's sister mad at her for the abandonment? How did that reunion go over? What about with her aunt? What did SHE think of the dragon?-What happened with Taj? Is his baby doing better (no more colic)?-Is Bryn's mother alright? Memory loss sounds pretty severe....Etc, etc, etc

I was on the edge of my chair for this whole book!
I love reading stories that I just can't quite put down and this was one of those stories.I started into it and then slurped it right down in an afternoon of great reading. It was believable and very real world built. I loved it! You will too.
