This was a replacement for my trusty pruning shear I wore out after 12 years. The coated carbon steel blades are easy to clean and were sharp right out of the package. I spray WD-40 lubricant on the blades after heavy use and cleaning to prevent any rusting. The cushioned handle is comfortable and provides a solid grip when pruning branches. The weight and balance of the pruning shear is just right. I also like the simple locking lever on this bypass pruner versus the hook catch on most of the ones I’ve seen in the big box stores. I would recommend this Bypass Pruning Shears to anyone who needs a nice high quality set of shears.

I am an avid home gardener. Although our yard isn’t big, we use it. I have 5 (4ft sq) garden boxes up front full of veggies and flowers. I have a raspberry forest in my back yard. I have 4 large trees on the property and my husband and I do all the yard work. I was given the opportunity to review these pruners, and in exchange, I was asked to post an honest review.The pruners are large for me. For reference, I wear a small size in nitrile gloves. My husband wears a medium glove and the pruners are a better fit for him to use. Although they are big, I have decent hand strength and can manage to cut a branch that is about ½”. Any bigger and I just ask my husband so the cut is clean.I have a couple of Fiskars and Tabors in my bucket of tools and this pair is similar in quality. The fact that the lock and gear are metal is nice. I have had many a pair of snips break because of plastic and just being outdoors. The grips are nice but if you aren’t wearing gloves and your hands are sweaty, it is a bit slick. The pruners are on on the heavier side of all my hand pruners.So far, I’ve used them and the cuts are clean every time. I hate when you go to cut something and it just smashes the branch and doesn’t actually cut it. I’m hoping the crisp cut lasts a while but I will update the review when they become dull so you can see how long they last with average use. And like most of my tools, after use, I just wipe them off and store them out of the elements.Just FYI, the pruners arrived in average packaging. Nothing fancy but it arrived and worked. If sending as a gift, splurge on the wrapping job.I use reviews myself when shopping online and I hope this is useful information for you. fell apart after the 3rd time I used it! Haven't received a replacement for it either nor my money back! DO NOT BUY!

I was really looking forward to using these pruning shears due to the high reviews. Unfortunately, they did not live up to my expectations. They work OK. But they are not sharp enough. I used them for about two hours of yard pruning and I had to cut many plants several times. It was frustrating and disappointing. They are not worth the higher price. The Customer Service was excellent as they provided a prompt full refund.

These are fine, but not a noticeable improvement over others I own.

I purchased these shears to replace my old rusty ones. I have put them through their paces and they are Perfect shears. I love the grip, its soft and comfortable. The shears so far have cut, plants, rose bushes, tree pruning, tomato plants, cucumber plants, Russian sage, weeping cherry tree and a bunch of other flowers. The price is good, the quality is good. Nice sturdy pair of shears. Safety latch for when not in use. Remember just keep your shears out of the rain or wipe immediately when they get wet and they will last years and years.

Very sharp, smooth action, standard overall design (lots out there that I have tried that appear just like it). The plasticized rubber sleeve on handle already has a crack in it at the cuff end after short use. The blade lock capriciously engages during use, causing need to repeatedly unlock (design issue). Price fair to a bit high compared to local hardware store. Wish there was a ring/hole present to which I could attach a fluorescent cord that might make finding the shears more easily when dropped carelessly amidst piles of cuttings.

Great purchase for the price. I find myself buying these around once a year,my main concern is the handle, sharpness of the blade/cutting ability, and of course sharpness of the blade (I hate buying new ones.) This one hits the mark on all 3 fronts. They are easy to hold, grip is great and don't slip out of your hands when its hot outside. I can see these lasting me a while, great quality! Love 'em!

Great pruners at an excellent price

... habe die Schere schon einige Zeit. Sie schneidet auch ganz gut. Es gibt keinerlei Einstellungen, z.B. wie weit die Griffe auseinander gehen. Ich würde bei der nächsten Schere etwas Geld mehr anlegen.
