A must-read!
So to start, a few words that come to mind when I think of this book - engrossing, intense, creepy, thrilling, thought-provoking, and emotional. Once I started reading, I honestly couldn't put it down. This book doesn't shy away from the real issues that teens face. It takes a good hard look at suicide, bullying, peer pressure, prejudice, justice, revenge, and the fine line between light and darkness that can dwell within all of us.Piper, the main character, stumbles upon a seemingly ordinary notebook, that is anything but ordinary. It turns out to be a journal of the deepest sins committed by students, and the extra creepy part? There are photos of those various students, with their eyes meticulously scratched out. Blank white orbs where the eyes should be. This literally gave me goosebumps, and it's just a hint to the obsession, and darkness that Piper will be pulled into. And with each frantic page turn, you'll be hoping she'll be able to escape!Trust me, this is a book you must read!If you enjoyed this book, try Natalie D. Richards' wonderful debut novel Six Months Later .

Gone too Far
3.5/5Gone Too Far is a young adult standalone thriller/suspense mystery by Natalie Richards. I have not read any books by Natalie yet, but I have heard some really great things about her first book, Six Months Later. What I liked the most about Gone too Far was that it was a true high school mystery. Most of the book takes place actually inside the school, and the person solving the mystery is a high school senior. Gone Too Far is a good read. While I did figure some aspects of the plot out, others remained a mystery to me until they were revealed, which I enjoyed.I was a little undecided on the character of Piper. On one hand, I loved that she wants to be a photojournalist because I think it fit in perfectly with the kind of mystery going on in the story, and she does mature as a character throughout the book. But, on the other hand, she seemed a little judge-y and a little immature at times. I think overall, she ended up being a decent character, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say I loved her.The mystery in Gone too Far had a very Pretty Little Liars vibe to it. There were texts and pictures, and clues being strategically placed, and everything felt very sinister and planned out, A style. I actually loved that, because I am a fan of both the Pretty Little Liars books and tv show. I think Gone too Far will be perfect for fans of PLL but also for fans of standalone mysteries. (PLL has a tendency to feel very drawn out.)I think what Natalie Richards did best was create a creepy a** vibe for Gone too Far. This book will have you looking over your shoulder while you are reading it. I am not kidding, this book sent actual shivers down my spine a couple of times. The whole vibe was very Scream esque and creepy. I loved it! Gone too Far makes me want to speed up to October, so I can get out some of my spooky horror novels I have been saving up. If you are a fan of a good suspense mystery with a creepy vibe, check out Gone too Far.*Disclaimer- I got a copy of this book for free in exchange for my honest review. I was not compensated for my thoughts.
