Consider the last star earned!
There is witty nonchalance found in each volume. You will not be disappointed to undertake this adventure. It turns out 'Uncle Louie' has navigated his life gathering stories worth telling and building his vocabulary- he may have even become a snappy dresser along the way;) Here's my initial review:I was intrigued enough to order, but did not know exactly what to expect. After reading the first volume, I am still not sure what the other two will hold in store for me. There is such a widespread scattering of things, I am not sure if it is an honest attempt to dig into every corner of life, or like throwing darts at a wall. The best way I can describe it, is being trapped in the family room with your Uncle Louie holding court from his easy chair. It could be glorious time spent, or watching the clock... it all depends how interesting your Uncle is. So far, he is a good storyteller who has led an interesting life. I'll update soon.

Ya' could've opened with that,,,
On page 43 of The Official Old's Cool Read Book, the author writes, "If you think I'm going to be able to write something revelatory about the nature of the universe, stop reading right now." Well heck, whud'ya think I bought the book for? Oh, well, I've gotten this far...But seriously, all three books are great reads! Thoroughly engrossing and entertaining, they will be stuffing many stockings this year. Never has higher edumacashun been so fun!

The Holy Trinity of Wit and Wisdom
The media could not be loaded. Incredibly well written, this collection of stories and facts is a whole lot of fun and it will make you the smartest guy you know. Probably.A great value at a great price, I'm sure you know someone who will benefit from the insights of these three little books.

A Great Read
A collection of literary gems, common sense we all should have, and anecdotes of sometimes misguided adventures in boldness. Take it all in, let yourself be guided by the gems, allow yourself to be transported into the adventures, and be grateful for the imparted wisdom; you’ll emerge ready to be the annoying know-it-all at your next party.

The Perfect Stocking-stuffer for ... well ... just about anyone
The Old's Cool trilogy is like a college education in several hours, minus the drinking games and student loans. It's all the anecdotal life lessons, poetry, and how-to [fill in the blank] you wish were in a syllabus rather than the mundane drivel that passes as required reading. I'm half joking, but not really. These pocket-size tomes would make great stocking-stuffers for old and young alike, provided they have any sense of humor or aspirations of self-improvement. How to make soap, Shakespeare's Sonnet 29, reference's to Montaigne's metaphysical self probing - its all here. So, if ever you wanted to learn how to write a press release or know the history behind the invention of Sperry Shoes, then the Old's Cool Manuals are for you. If not, then you should probably stop reading now and fly back to Volgograd.

Successful Gift
I bought these as a gift for spouse, and he thoroughly enjoyed them, read them cover to cover, gave a set to a friend. They are in my book pile for future reading as well. Many chuckles and, "Hey, listen to this!" while he read.

I bought a dozen or so for stocking stuffers this past Christmas. They were a big hit. Clever, witty and chock full of interesting stories and useful information. A must read/education for today's modern man (or woman). You will not be disappointed - you'll be entertained and learn something in the process.
