Great book!
This book is great for 4th grade and up! I am an elementary teacher and I think this is a great example of a diverse book that would be a great addition to a classroom or school library. Wonderful story of friendship in here too!

Good book, but was damaged
Daughter was excited. But this book was obviously used. Not bothing to return it as she needed it today for a assignment. Some pages were torn and for some odd reason there was a package of tomato seeds in it, maybe the previous owner used it as a book mark? But anyway, she loves the book!

P (age 9) Everyone thinks Liv is a girl but Liv doesn't feel like a girl
Review from E.C.P (age 9)Everyone thinks Liv is a girl but Liv doesn't feel like a girl. Liv's problem is the dress code at school. He wants to wear pants but he's not allowed to because of the dress code. Liv meets a boy named Jacob who he feels can help. Then Liv and Jacob come up with "The Pants Project." Kids need to sign papers to show the principal that there should be no dress code. Then one day, Liv and Jacob do something different--Liv wears pants and Jacob wears a skirt. This seems to change the minds of many.My favorite part is when Jade turns around and isn't mean to Liv anymore.I thought this was a great book and I would give it 10/10.

Incredible Read!
This novel catches you from the start with the highlight not on the character's personal gender expression entirely, but on the growth and development of the character's independence. A book like this will leave you wanting more......... or at least an epilogue!

Helps kids see they can stand up for what they believe in
The Pants Project is a story of standing up for what you believe in and being yourself, even when those around you can’t see you for who you are. Liv is both excited and scared to head to middle school, but there’s one aspect of the school he hates—the fact that girls have to wear skirts. Liv doesn’t like the way skirts feel—they’re itchy and annoying, and worst of all, they make Liv feel like everyone looks at him and sees a girl, which is not who he knows he truly is. But he hasn’t told anyone that, and he isn’t sure he’s ready to. Tackling the skirt issue is a first step, though, so Liv begins The Pants Project. The story features quite a bit of diversity (Liv’s got two moms and he eventually learns his best friend has a hidden disability) and it unfortunately shows the bullying that can go along with being different. Liv has to deal with comments about his moms and doesn’t want to face the idea that he might be bullied even more if he comes out as transgender. The book also shows how friendships can deteriorate during middle school (an unfortunate fact), but Liv makes new friends that fill the gap. Liv’s family relationships and friendships are wonderful, especially her budding friendship with Jacob, which we get to see as it develops. This book will help kids see that differences don’t have to be scary and that everyone has a right to feel safe and secure in who they are!***Disclosure: I received this book from the publisher so I could provide an honest review. No compensation was given and all opinions are my own.***

Blank pages throughout the book
I purchased this book and there are blank pages throughout the second half of the book - more than 10, so a lot of the story is missing.
