Read Directions Carefully!
It has been about 50 years since I last used a Rit dye. The liquid form (which I don't think existed in the 70s) is much easier to use than the powder. I had to increase the temperature of my hot water heater several times to produce water that approached the recommended 140 degrees F. The garment I dyed started out white. Now it is a rich "mustard green". This is not exactly the color I wanted but I mixed a couple of dye colors and not having read the directions thoroughly, the garment remained in the dye bath longer than it needed to. The result was darker than expected, but the color is even and saturated. Note the "before & after" photo.

Works just like they said.
I used this color and a second color to dye in my front-loading washer. I used the YouTube directions for front loaders. I used the salt and boiling water. I just carried my electric kettle to the laundry room and plugged it in there. It was simple to boil water to dissolve the salt and to add extra water to the washer through the detergent dispenser to make sure that the salt and the dye had enough water in my water-saving machine to dye evenly. I used the long cycle to give it lots of time. Then I washed the dyed clothes, took them out to dry them, and wiped the seals (the only place the dye stuck) with a wet rag, washed an empty load in the machine, then washed a dark load. No dye was left to cause any problems. My clothes look great!

Love Rit dye, color was a lot darker then expected
These dyes work great, I ordered the fuchsia to dye my 3 year olds shoes that’s she claimed weren’t pretty 😂. I just wish I would have ordered a lighter pink or purple. These almost look red. But if anyone needs to dye Vans all white shoes it worked great! I did a teaspoon of dish soap, salt & boiling water with the dye.

Good brand, wrong color
I use rit dye alot but the actual color is not like the photo they use in the listing. Much more "cornflower" blue.

Bottle was already open 🙈
The cap on the bottle was loose and the security seal had been opened. The dye leaked out into the cardboard packaging and was very messy.I was entitled to a refund but I only needed 1/2 bottle and there was enough for that.Rit dye is great to use and the colour was fab.
