Part of Etnies ' buy a shoe, plant a tree reforestation program, our best-selling shoe, the jameson 2 eco, is made using recycled rubber in the outsole and recycled plastic in the creation of the pet shoe laces. This low top also features a faux-vulc cupsole construction and a thinly padded tongue and collar for protection and added comfort. Plus, the sti foam lite level 1 footbed showcase the baspat logo.

Too tight, size up needed
Not sure what is happening with shoe companies today but getting a lot that are just not sized per the usual. I have always had size 12 US, and that matches with all of Amazons sizing charts for my feet measurements. These Etnies are very tight. The taper around the toes squeezes them together unnaturally and overall it's squeezing the whole foot. Was slightly painful after only a few minutes of wearing them and walking over short distances was making it worse. It's definitely NOT something you can stretch out over a few days.Quality seemed pretty good but these seem to be made for people with small feet and narrow toes. Getting a size up would probably be awkwardly long.

Not a wide shoe, as was advertised
These shoes are not only not wide, they seem narrower than a regular shoe but were advertised as wide width shoes. After one day of use, I realized it it not possible for me to continue wearing the shoes. I thought they might relax a little with wear but they have just made my feet hurt. I am frustrated and disappointed. The shoes also appeared to have been worn when the arrived, due to markings on the soles. Total waste of money. Why would you include these shoes in a group advertised as good for wide feet?

The best skate shoes
Cause they last long time skating! Grippy outsole (hard at the beginning but you get use to it), well padded, durable and excellent impact protection. This is my 6th pair.

Much better made than Fader LS
I had bought the Fader LS for several years, because I didn't like the thick tongue on other models Etnies makes and it did the job. It's looking like they discontinued that model, so I had to find something new. These were a lot more expensive, and in the world of skate shoes what you pay for doesn't always equal what you get. I've seen the Fader LS fluctuate from $40 to ~$80, and it is definitely not worth the high end of that scale. I'm happy to say that the $83 I spent on these Marana shoes is well worth it. As others have mentioned, the soles are VERY grippy. Toe cap is tough and the materials appear high quality. In addition, the insole is WAY better than the crappy foam in the Fader LS, which would legitimately start showing wear within a week. Laces appear to be coated in something that helps keep them tied. Nice details. Will be purchasing again.

Great durability and protection- but change the insoles
I have had 5-6 pairs of these shoes. They are great for skating if you prioritize protecting your feet top to bottom (especially if you add FP insoles) If you like really thin skate shoes for max board feel these are NOT for you. However if your top concerns are durability and preventing foot injuries I think these shoes combined with FP insoles game changers are a great combo. They do take a session or 2 to break in. I skate about an hour a day, 5 days a week and these last me about a month fwiw.

Sick shoe, very narrow fit
I picked out these shoes as they're one of the few skate shoes remaining that are still well made and durable in their materials. Their partnership with Michelin is rad and you can just see the quality in that.Unfortunately these are the most narrow does I've ever tried on and they run short as well. I'm usually a 10.5-11. I got these in 11 and they were woefully small. So I ordered an 11.5 which I never do, and a 12 as I really wanted these to work. 11.5 came close but was too narrow, and the 12 was way too long and STILL narrow!!!!So if you have narrow feet, rejoice as you've got the sickest skate shoe out there available to you. Anyone with normal to slightly wider feet, sorry but you gotta keep looking.

Looks fine, low quality/not comfortable.
Not gonna lie, got this shoe for the looks alone. Wasn't expecting it to be comfortable, but I liked the feel of the original Etnies Jameson Vulc. In comparison, these were made of a much stiffer material that won't become malleable no matter how I stretch it. Also, the bottom of the shoe is made out of a very thick plastic-feeling material that quickly picks up dirt and becomes extremely slippery on smooth surfaces. The thick sole makes for less board-feel and grip on a board as well.TL:DR - Look somewhere else if you have narrow feet, or if you want a shoe to use for skating or comfortable walking. These are just as comfortable as cheap dress shoes.

The most uncomfortable Etnies ever
I have worn Etnies for 20 years now (yes I'm old but can still skate). Etnies are usually very comfortable, well cushioned, durable as hell, and great for fat feet like mine. The ECO shoes have no cushioning at all, and no arch support. They are also much more narrow than traditional Etnies. These would not be good to skate in, and they are not great for a work shoe due to poor arch support and little cushioning. Pay more for a real pair of Etnies!

A little snug in the fit
Very stylish and well made. However my size 7 feels more like a 6.5. I expect it will “give” a bit with wear but straight out of the box they feel narrow and my toes are a little cramped. I will update review in a month or so if they relax and feel more comfortable with wear. My first impression though is I should have ordered a 7.5

Comfortable, slightly too small
Great shoes. Used to replace some old Vans that had been kicking around for years.Soft but firm tongue, with the lace layout they can be comfortable tightened well. Strong grippy sole has stood up to liquid spills on polished concrete already...as expected from a skate shoe though.Slightly tighter fit than other manufacturers, but only very slightly: thinner socks must suffice.Practical enough to use for skating, or walking around town, but smart enough to wear on an evening out.Overall, five stars from me.

Poorer quality than previous.
They feel extremely cheep initially leading me to believe that they were fake, but I found out that etnies have lowered their standards dramatically recently, they now paint the lines on the sides! The rubber is extremely had and the tread is some form of plastic compound, the shoe still hasn’t broken in and my feet have severely suffered from it. I have developed Plantar fasciitis I the past couple of months and I’m wondering if it was related to these shoes but can’t say for sure. They feel like clunky blocks of rubber for your feet, not impressed.

I love them, stylish guilt free shoe shopping for the win.
Love em. They fit, look good. Aren’t as chunky as many skate shoes, but have that comfortable vibe with less padding. I’ve wide feet so skate shoes can make me look like I’ve got boats where my feet should be. Fit well, have received quite a few compliments on my nice trainers/ shoes. Good for casual, can get away with them as smart causal too. Also love the Buy a Shoe Plant a Tree ethos. I don’t want to take more than I need from the planet, but I really want a second pair of these trainers. No Saint or Eco warrior, though feel better about treating myself to another pair as it’s a catalyst to a tree being planted. I will be getting another pair for sure- that good!

Fall to pieces in weeks
I used to ride BMX many years ago so grew up with the Etnies brand. I also stopped wearing animal based products a few years ago, so was pleased when I saw that the Eco 2 was available in vegan colour ways.I love the look and feel of these shoes, and desperately wanted them to work. But I've had three pairs now and they all failed in the same way.I only wear them to go shopping on weekends, but the sole comes away after a few uses. This is literally the lightest duty use you could imagine.I emailed etnies to see if this problem had been fixed on more recent generations, but was told they know it's a problem, they expect them to fail in this way, and they will give me £25 towards a new pair.I'm sure this is some kind of consumer rights violation, as they are knowingly selling a product that will fail in just a few weeks.Very disappointed.
