Springs broke on one section of our couch so I ordered these to fix it. They worked but could use some tweaking. I had to rotate one end that didn't quite line up on one side but the other went on with no problem (Hence 4 stars). So maybe work on the angles of them some or something. But overall very satisfied. How long will the one last having been twisted some, Guess we'll find out.

Hello, the spring was easy to put on using a boot lace. I measured 10 inches from the mounting hole to the mounting stub. This is the longest spring size I could find. I put the short spring hook in the mounting hole and put a boot lace on the long spring hook and pulled it over the mounting stub. Put the middle of the boot lace in the curve of the hook and wrap the ends of the lace around your hand and pull firmly. I did both springs while it was on its side that doesn't have the handle. As always wear safety glasses. Also I put the springs on while the footrest was in the closed position. Put paper towels or something on the floor on the side of the recliner that doesn't have the handle. Then tip the recliner on to the paper towels, first time I put my recliner on it's side it made a mess. I also put spray lubricant on the rotating base bearings and spin it a few times, that made more debris come out. While the recliner is on its side would be a good time to clean out the dust bunnies.
