Never had a tofu press, after long hard looks and reviews I boiled it down to this tofu press and I made the best choice! You can't go wrong with this press. It's tough, sturdy, so easy to clean. I use a salad plate that had curled up edges so is perfect to hold the press and catch all the liquid. I actually stand it up. I hold the top plate up while I slide the tofu in so it doesn't break. Then I just stand it upright on the plate and let it drip. It works great in a 8x8 brownie pan too. I use the glass brownie pan or a bowl to marinate the tofu if wanted. It cleans so easy. I rinse it right after I'm done using it and it rinses cleans. So fast and easy. I sit it out to dry and then it fits in a big kitchen drawer. Sometimes I make extra tofu to batch cook so I wanted another tofu press. I tried a different kind thinking it was a little nice and fancy with the dial down press and container but it was cheaply built and I couldn't get it to work. So, I thought stick with what works! This press works! So easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store. Not flimsy at all. Now I have 2! Best tofu press :)

Works like a charm. Cleaner, simpler and easier than my old diy method. And the tea towels were a lovely surprise. Very happy customer.

Excellent tool. You can easily press tofu while you prep a marinade or start working on the rest of your ingredients. I’ve found that 20-25 full turns of the knob, spread out over three 8 minute presses removes water from a block of extra firm tofu without splitting it at its sides.It is dishwasher safe, but can be cleaned by hand without difficulty. I’ve been using the press for two months and haven’t noticed any rust on the metal parts.If you have arthritis, the knobs may give you some trouble when you get past 14 turns. An option for bigger knobs might be helpful. For now, I should be good for a couple decades.The only possible negative I can think of is if you have pets that like getting on your countertops, you might be better off with an enclosed press, or you could just put it on a plate in your fridge. I can only see it being a problem if you have to leave the press unattended and have a very food motivated pet.

This press works great so far. Previously, to press tofu, we had to use a pile of books in bags which ended up being a mess and ruined a couple books. lol So I finally broke down and bought a press. I love the idea of the self-containing presses that hold the juices in the same container, but as those all seem to press unevenly, I went with this design. We just use it in a bowl to catch the juices. The tofu turns out great. It is pretty easy to use once you get the number of turns needed commited to memory! Since it is a sturdy plastic, it won't mildew like some materials. It is visually appealing and easy to clean and store. I'm happy to have it in my home.

This is a fine, sturdy item, and receiving it was a pleasure because the company included a "bonus" gift of two very nice, lightweight dishtowels which I will enjoy using for proofing bread. My only disappointment was that using this press does not cut down the time it takes to press the water out of the tofu. Until now, I used a cutting board upon which I stacked several 5 or 10 lb. bags of flour or sugar, and it took about 30 minutes to get the desired amount of water out of the tofu. Using my new press was much easier (no dragging bags of flour and sugar out of the pantry!), but it took just as long. I thought a tofu press worked immediately -- just pressing and voila!! I guess I didn't understand the process...

Ever since I treated myself to this press I have had the courage to try different tofu recipes and every time, the dish comes out perfectly. One of my granddaughters has become a vegetarian like her grandma and my daughter told me that the entire family is now eating tofu because of the press and it gets used several times a week. Cleans up easily, sturdy and the tofu is ready to use within minutes. Wonderful. Go for it!

I was researching Tofu presses and was considering buying the model that is enclosed in a plastic container that you squeeze to reduce the water content. I chose this model because it looks easy to clean and indeed it is. The other models look neat, but it's probably a nightmare to clean. Yes, you can just throw it in the dishwasher, but I think these plastic materials last longer when you hand wash them. I have a dishwasher and I use the dry cycle and I believe the hot temperature extremes doesn't help with the longevity of plastic. Sure, don't use the dry cycle, but now you have to wait for all your dishes to dry or now spend more of your time drying all your dishes.This tofu model evenly presses out the liquid and is easy to use. Contrary to the instructions (which might say something like taking 1 hour to fully release liquids) I probably only spent about 30 minutes to press one tofu block. One thing I noticed is that next time I will not press out as much liquid. This may sound weird, but I like my tofu to be a little "juicy" and not dry. When reheating leftover tofu, the tofu tasted dry so I would not recommend pressing your tofu so long. Overall I like this Tofu press and I highly recommend it. By the way, I bought this with my own money and my review is not based on a promotion or any enter to win contest. I just like the product.
