ActiveGear Knee Brace Support Heavy Duty Neoprene Sport Compression Sleeve (Large)

Unlike others that provide a 5-star rating for a free or discounted product, I am proving my rating based on truth and use. A retired military Vietnam veteran with a right knee replaced twice. Because of surgery issues it will never be better than 60-70% with daily exercise. Since June of 2011, I have had to wear a knee brace, in addition to the knee replacement surgery, to control the pain and mobility issues. All my prior braces were medically provided however, now Uncle Sam does not pay for medical support braces (another benefit gone). So I told the doctor I'll go to Amazon for my brace based on real users and not an Orthopedic retail process. Hence this brace purchase. It was equally priced to my doctors office item but better and here is why. Note all my photos, to include the repaired knee, the brace in use and the packaging.First, note this brace is shorter. I thought this would be an issue but it actually is better. The support is thicker and firm which is ideal for replaced knees. Although the brace is shorter 3-4 inches in length, it actually wears very comfortably. My knee doesn't sweat anymore than prior braces; in fact because it is shorter the leg area stays cooler above and below the knee.My daily activities include dog walking for my son twice daily equal in one hour of street walking. I also go to the gym daily so for 40 minutes it is in use as I workout with various Nautilus exercise machines. Then, I do 40-60 minutes of cardio on the treadmill. Plus any daily store or walking activities. This is my everyday routine so my knee brace is more than important.Today, was the first day of wearing this new brace. I did all that and more and actually forgot I had the brace on. It was extremely comfortable. Support to my knee was outstanding. It didn't slip or ride up or down. And, I actually think, for me it was exactly what I needed for my less than normal knee. This was my first day so I have no idea what 30 days of my daily routine will provide but I will update accordingly. It took me a long time to make a decision on what brace may work. And, to sort through vendors that give products for great reviews. Folks like me, with surgically replaced knees, we need honest reviews. Our comfort depends on it. This was my purchase and truthful review. Hopefully, others will benefit. BTW, I am 65 for those older folks wondering if this will work. I think you will be surprised as to how well it does support.Update: 11 July 2016: I have used this knee brace everyday since I received it. Twelve hours a day seven days a week including the gym six days a week and everyday activity. It works great! still extremely supportive. And it is still in excellent condition even though every day I remove it and keep it inside out to dry and air. For germ protection I do spray it daily with a germ spray (Lysol type product). In the past I have found that washing them is OK, however do not put in the dryer. I still think this is the best knee brace I have found and that includes three orthopedic offices and some super stores.

This knee brace support has performed well when I felt I needed it. The fit is snug but not uncomfortable. It seems well constructed so I expect it will be around for some time to be used on those occasions I deem it necessary. My only qualm is not the fault of this brace support, but rather an issue with my knee that the brace support was not designed to help with. I would recommend others seriously consider this support.

I am 56 and have recently experienced knee pain; not debilitating pain, but sharp pain when I try to rotate my foot outwards. My knee also gets stiff when I sit for more than about 15 minutes, and it takes walking about 30 steps before I am able to completely straighten my knee. With spring mowing season starting up, I needed a knee brace that fit (I am a large woman, and none of the knee braces in the local drug and discount stores fit) and provided compression and stability. I found the ActiveGear neoprene sleeve compression brace on Amazon, and it is so reasonably priced that I ordered two (use and spare). The day after I received them, I slipped one on and was able to do 2 hours of mowing/trimming on a mostly level lawn area with minimal, and I do mean minimal, discomfort. The brace is very comfortable, providing lots of compression without cutting off my circulation. My only mistake was in taking the brace off about 20 minutes after I finished the mowing. My knee swelled and I felt the typical pain I've been feeling for the past several weeks without the brace. So -- if you're using the brace like I am, I recommend you keep it on for an hour or two after being active. As far as ease of use, the brace, being a sleeve, pulls on easily using both hands. To remove it, I take the top edge and peel the brace downwards, turning it inside out -- and leave it that way to let the inside dry if it has been dampened by perspiration. By the way, I don't find the brace too hot; on the contrary, the neoprene holds in enough warmth that it makes my knee feel better but not so much heat that it feels sweltering. I haven't slept in the brace -- yet -- but I wouldn't feel reluctant to do so. I would definitely recommend this knee brace to others who can stand and walk but not without some knee pain.

UPDATE: The company contacted me after I wrote my review and apologized that their product hadn't met my expectations. They offered to make it right and were great to work with. Like I wrote in my review, this wasn't the product I was looking for, but I couldn't be happier with the company's service!ORIGINAL REVIEW:I use knee sleeves intermittently with my long floor shifts, and these are more comfortable those I have from a brand name with a metal as its key feature. They don't pinch all my circulation off at the quad or just below the knee. They are hotter, because they are neoprene, and because they're thicker, I usually need to take them down about six hours in because there will be a fold that's digging into the side of my leg. They wash well and I'll keep them in rotation, but my search for the perfect knee sleeve continues. They do make my joints feel better after fourteen hours on my feet.

The size ordered as per measurement method advised by you is not correct method. initially i had procured an Large size and since that didn't fit her i had ordered for XL size. Even the XL size is not fitting her knees.We may need XXL.But i already have now one new large and one new XL size which i had ordered before.Is there anyway we can exchange these for XXL size?
