Moss Hill Shaving Soap - Bourbon Shave Soap for Traditional Wet Razor Shaving - All Natural Ingredients - Kentucky Bourbon Scent, 4 Oz

First the good - I like the scent of this shave soap, although it is on the edge of being too perfumey for my taste. It seems to perform very well under the razor - smooth, slick strokes. 5/5 in that sense.The one thing I would like to see changed are the dimensions of the container - it's a littler narrower and taller than most shave soaps I've bought and I find it to be a little bit of a pain to raise a good lather. Not that it can't be done, but there just isn't a lot of room to work a brush. Giving it a little extra water seems to help, but I would recommend Moss Hill think about going for containers that are a bit shallower and wider.

I tried this soap this morning and I am very happy. From the moment I unscrewed the top I was in heaven! I was looking for a whiskey/bourbon scented soap for my collection and this one is perfect. I am so glad I went with Moss Hill. Great lather and viscosity. But let me tell you - the scent is amazing! If you like scents such as Pinaud's Whiskey Woods you'll probably feel the same so go for it you will not be disappointed. If there is anything that would make shaving with this soap any better it would be following it up with a matching aftershave lotion.

The product is awesome. I’ve used a feather blade, a Kai and a Derby blade with it. The slickness is great.There is a touch of bourbon and vanilla scent to it. The bourbon could be a tad stronger for my liking. I also noticed faint tobacco scent. As you can see in the pic, it lathers great. I don’t know if it’s my boar brush or if the soap is very thirsty. I’ll have to try it with my badger next time. You probably could use the container it comes in to lather up and do a face lather. I personally don’t like the face lather compared to using a bowl lather.Bottom line.... the soap is great. It’ll hold its own with the other name brand and artisans soap.

This product is fantastic. It lathers very well in a bowl. I'm sure you could face lather it just fine. It's a little more on the vanilla side than the bourbon side, but it still smells fantastic. I combined it with a bourbon scented pre-shave cream and it evened out the smell for me. My only gripe is that the container is so small. I wish they'd double the size. It would make it easier to lather up for sure. Regardless, smells great, lathers great, and helps with a great shave!

great smell absolutely one of the best shave soap I have ever used. will by from again. used with my safety razor and result was a smooth shave with no razor burn .

I use this every day when I shave. I bought more just to make sure I don't have a day where I run out.

This gives you a nice thick soap which results in a nice smooth shave. It also has a really nice scent.
