A very solid foundation to the world of investing and trading
This audiobook is very encompassing and thorough. The topic is wide-ranging but the author/professor did great job of getting to many basics, expanding, and offering the listeners a better understanding. I have been in the industry for over 30 years and this audiobook would be a great primer for the average person to understand. I would recommend this audiobook to just about any person just getting started.

Examples of the principles at work
The teacher of this course (Professor John Longo of Rutgers Business School) is himself a successful portfolio manager of a $2.5 billion investment firm, so you know that these lectures are coming from a place of experience. Additionally, much of the course circulates around learning about 30 different successful investors like Warren Buffet, Ray Dalio, and T. Rowe Price), so you will get some examples of the principles at work. If you've never taken a Great Courses class before, they have really excellent college level courses you can listen to right from home, with accompanying textbooks. These courses are perfect for continuing self education; you can take the course at your own pace and they cost a fraction of what a similar course might cost at a four year university.

" I recommend that you listen to this book ASAP
This audio book is a must listen for everyone serious about becoming and investor. If you are a college student who thinks that they want to work on "Wall Street," I recommend that you listen to this book ASAP. It will provide you with an excellent introduction to all of the major types of firms, securities and investment vehicles, investment strategies, and names of investors someone serious about a career in investing should know and hopefully help you put yourself on the right track. I really wish that I would have had access to these audible books as an undergraduate. The Art of Investing: Lessons from History's Greatest Traders speaks about the various backgrounds, investments, strategies, and principals of many great investors. You will learn about investors, who specialized in various areas including technical analysis, fixed income, emerging markets, sovereign wealth, hedge funds, private equity, derivatives, and quantitative trading strategies (just to name a few), key investments they made, strategies they used, and principles they followed. John Longo does an excellent job helping listeners understand the basic economic, financial and behavioral concepts behind these strategies so that even a person with the most basic knowledge of finance and investing can follow. This work has the right combination of history, scope, academics and story, which combine to form an easy and invaluable learning experience.
