Good camera for my application (spectrophotometry). There is a removable IR filter that you can remove to see IR (seen in the above picture). Very sharp, can resolve the 2nm europium-mercury band and compact, works well in dark environments. The only small issue is no automatic focus but this can be solved in software, you can control the focus from your computer. Overall a good camera.

Fantastic camera! The two companies I work for require excellent HD video and this camera does just that. Combined with a ring light, this camera produces excellent video quality. I use the camera daily and have had 0 issues. Buy it!

Image quality is terrible...full of dancing red, green, and yellow spots. 1080P video looks worse than 480P from a really old Logitech camera.Still image quality is better...but it's 12MP of really bad image. A screenshot from a decent 720P webcam looks better.I'm pretty sure the product images were faked; one shows a video against a white wall and that's not possible with this camera. A white wall looks like a technicolor nightmare with all the artifacts bouncing around.I tried pointing it at a pattern using CV software. The pattern would detect and then get lost over and over as the multicolored image artifacts jumped around. It would take a while to explain how bad this is; it isn't a test to see if a camera is good, only to see if it is at least marginal...and this camera failed terribly.The website for this company has what they call a driver, but it's just one of the EXE files from the driver package; the actual drivers come on a mini CD. This is a problem if you don't have an optical drive...or if you have a slot load drive. So basically, you need an old computer to read the disk and transfer to a USB drive. The drivers themselves are trash. They are based on RealTek drivers but you can't use the RealTek drivers; you must use the Ausdom drivers. The Ausdom drivers don't support Windows 10 officially. The drivers come with a little app. This adjusts image settings (but there is no way to get a good image). The app is also the only way to use the still camera, which is a real pain. Also, the app crashes a lot...hard crashes where you can't even close it by using task manager. You have to physically unplug the camera and then it unfreezes. Also, if you are running something to capture the video, like OBS for example, then the app will refuse to do anything...so you can't even tune the camera for your app without closing the app so you can't see what your settings are doing!I once had a flip phone that took worse video than this camera...I really can't think of any camera other than that flip phone that performed this bad; certainly nothing I have purchased in the last 10 years.If you are looking for a decent camera in this price range, check out the Logitech C270...it's only 720P with no still functionality...but every frame of streaming video is higher quality than a still from this Ausdom camera, and looks better even stretched up full screen on a 4K monitor.

I gave this a 4 instead of 5, but I offer the immediate disclaimer that the missing star is probably operator error. I did have some issues setting it up and figuring it out, but I have never done one before and I am sure I made some rookie mistakes. The user manual is weak, but again, if you already know about webcams, it probably says all it needs to. I am trying to make a video and haven't mastered the microphone yet - it's almost unusable. But Youtube masters suggest to never use the mic on any webcam anyway, so I suspect this one is no less than any others. Much of what I thought 'wasn't working' was actually just that it is slower than I expected, and I just wasn't giving it enough time to process my requests. The one final thing I would mention, however, that gave me fits until I found it in the instructions is that to launch the cam process, you have to RIGHT click the icon on the task bar. Counterintuitive because most programs are opened with a left click.

Camera worked immediately once plugged PC with great image 'out of the box'The AMCAP manual is included and packaged nicely.The camera is quality built and has good focus & images overall goodVideo recording was great also. Applications such as Zoom and Webex or even teams meeting works flawless and thus exactly what i was in the market for. the Price is very comparable with with 1080P but I liked the design of this camera and wanted to try something different this time around.

pretty decent camera.... For the price. The picture is on par with the 720c Logitech in terms of clarity, but this is 1080p in terms of pixels. The picture in low light is really bad though, super grainy, in good lighting, its very nice. I had some problem initially and actually had filed for a return. It needed a driver download for Windows 10 and it worked right off the bat, after a week or so, it quit working and would only do audio. Before returning I plugged into a Mackintosh running Sierra and it was plug and play and worked without issue. For some reason Windows installs some USB camera app that kills it, uninstall that and it worked again. I don't regret the purchase, its a good device for the cost and if for WiFi calling and such itd be perfect, maybe spend a couple extra dimes if using for a YouTube face cam or the like.Pros:1080ppriceMac OS X plug and play (at least Yosemite through Sierra anyhow)

This is a nice little web cam. I purchased it to use on skype calls... those on the other end have commented that the picture is clear and crisp. It comes with additional software, which is super easy to install. I dont use the mic portion as I have a separate headset for that. This cam, easily adjusts to fit over my monitor. The only negative that I have found is it does not mask the mess on my coffee table!Pros:Easy to installCrisp and Clear pictureWorks well with skypeCons:Does not hide the stuff on my coffee tableOverall this is a great web cam with 1080 hd and a usb connector. I would highly recommend this to someone who doesnt have a web cam attached to their computer.

Arrived promptly, well packaged.Camera was recognised immediately by PC and provided a satisfactory image 'out of the box'The AMCAP software wasn't at the location provided in the manual but waseasily located. This does give some additional control over the camera thoughit's rather basic; the download comes as a ZIP file and appears to be a 'portable' version.The camera appears to be reasonably well built although the focussing lens mountaction felt rather rough and a little uncertain, but good sharp focus could be obtainedwhich didn't appear to drift, as other have noted. The image quality was very satisfactory,clear and sharp overall. THE amcap software gives enough control to get acceptableimages over a good range of light level, from full dayight to low level LED illumination(a little noise visible in the latter.) Suitability of the camera will depend on the intendedapplication - the view angle is rather wide (tending a little to 'fish-eye'), suitable fora group or outside view, but probably rather distorting for individual close-up, though thiscould be offset by more distant placement & use of zoom feature.The flexible support, though ingenious, is rather unsatisfactory and leaves the camera ratherunstable on a flat surface - for that it would have been much better with a rigid clampincorporating a tripod bush.Video recording was satisfactory & relatively flicker free. The audio performance was not testedand not required for my applications. All in all, worth considering for many applications.

Installed on TV connected to Beelink computer. Used for Skype communications. Good microphone, good image quality. Very satisfied

Looked any many positive and negative reviews on this model. Even looked up articles reviewing it with images compared to other webcams. It's okay for the price it's going for, but the video is very washed and grainy.Do not buy this if you expect a decent mic on it. The mic sucks!
