Mehndi for the Inspired Artist

Perhaps one of the best books. Acrylic metallic paint is easily available for purchase on Amazon so one can practice art and make gorgeous things. I really love that one can make gorgeous charger plates for beautiful dining. Also one can add decorations to anything. I plan on using gold and copper acrylic metal paints and wood. I am a big fan of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s work. While anyone can become better (perhaps with 10,000 hours of practice) one of his gorgeous lamps (Wisteria lamp) was made from 1,000 hand cut and most importantly hand joined pieces. So someone making it got a lot of practice with glass and metal work and overall work looked gorgeous. Stained glass is gorgeous but for something to be really gorgeous especially with colourful glass, metal lines must be very even and sort of fine. This book teaches one to make (easily) very gorgeous and sort of complicated designs on objects one can enjoy for oneself. If you don’t love something yourself why do people expect someone else will love it. I already have a steady hand but I can see myself making perhaps several dozen mason jars and filling them with candles for a lovely backyard celebration. Not everyone is somehow gifted in art - somehow many small details (easily taught in this book) can make gorgeous objects. As everyone is different, once people learn the basics perhaps one can further use these skills - like I plan on using them with wood work. Really excellent book with wonderful projects.

It’s here!!!! So exciting! As a henna fan of Henna By Heather, Heather Caunt-Nulton @artisticadornment I’ve been anxiously awaiting this book and it is wonderful and soooo worth the wait! It’s written in a way that makes it all simple and easy to understand! Henna “instructions” from start to finish and beyond! I believe from beginners to professionals, aspiring henna artists and creative people alike will benefit from having this book on their shelves!! Just imagine what you can do!

A fantastic book full of ideas for creativity. High quality pages.

Needed more information that was practical to do this art form the first time. Sources of products would have helped and how to apply the henna, how long to leave on, how to get through that first application and what is appropriate for novices. This is a beautiful book with lots of pictures. Not enough information that was basic but what was there was comprehensive without explaining the use of the designs that were traditional. Heather is an artist and that is apparent in the pictures. It is not a how to book for novices but has some easy to use line drawings that can be practiced before experimenting with the henna paste.
