National Trust Teatime Baking Book: Good Old-fashioned Recipes

Traditional recipes for proper teatime treats. Lots of photographs of recipes, blurbs on some of the National Trust sites and most importantly, well-written recipes that aren't too complicated or requiring "far out" ingredients. Measurements for both UK and US cooks make this book a pleasure to use. There's bound to be a treat for every taste in this gem of a book.

This is an updated version of an earlier edition. This book has pictures while the original did not and they have left out some, not many, but some recipes that were in the original. That said this is a good baking book which includes recipes for regional tea time treats.

Sadly lacking in pictures, but full of interesting anecdotes about the recipes.

Bought as a present for mother in law. Beautiful book and good selection of recipes.

Bought this as a present for a friend who loved it! It is a heavy and sturdy book full of many recipes. My friend was excited about seeing new recipe ideas she'd not heard of and some that were reminiscent of childhood favourites. She has since made a few of these baked goods and they're very yummy! Great present for anyone who loves to bake but has lots of recipe books already as the recipes in here are very traditional.

This book brings back happy memories of days gone by. In here are gems that my Granny and Mum used to make. Their recipes are long gone but here are tried and trusted versions of the same things and so much more besides.This is a really good book. I hope it brings back happy memories for many more people.

Mother-in-law, now 88 used to be a volunteer at a National Trust property, working in the tea room. She lost her recipe notes during a recent house move and we bought this to make up for the loss. She loves it and I get the benefit of the fantastic cakes she has been able to make again after several years of soggy and collapsed efforts.
