It worked in 6 weeks of ordering installation!!
I reviewed a lot of dog doorbells and decided to try this one. First, we tried a strap of jingle bells hanging from the door know and it frightened our dog each time they jingled. I ordered this doorbell 6 weeks ago. At first she didn't seem to pay attention to it. We hung it just above the baseboard by the door we always use to go potty. At first we were taking her out every 30 minutes. We would sit her by the bell, say "go potty" and use her paw or nose to ring the bell and immediately take her outside to the grass. We did this consistently for 4-5 weeks. She began occasionally ringing the bell on her own, but some times she just wanted to go outside and play and no potty. This week (week 6 of the bell) she begab ringing the bell when she needed to poopoo, but wouldn't ring it to pee. A few days ago, she began ringing the bell, sitting beside the door patiently, and when we take her out, she goes pee and/or potty within a few minutes. She now only rings it when she needs to go potty and isn't ringing it to go play. We keep things business only when she rings then bell, go potty and come back inside. Between potty trips, we take her outside to play without ringing the bell and this seems to be reinforcing the association of ringing the bell when nature calls. She is now 16 week old, a female Havanese. While potty training is a drag and we have had plenty of accidents and "surprise piles" behind the sofa, we made sure and did not get upset or scold her for her accidents. If we caught her in then act, we would quickly but quietly pick her up and take her outside (even when she had already emptied her bladder). We were beginning to think it wasn't going to work but with consistent repetition, something clicked and she figured out what she needed to do when she felt the urge. We are going on vacation soon and taking her with us. I just ordered another GoGo Bell to use in the condo we are renting. We don't want her to forget how to use the bell while we are gone and hope to prevent any accidents in our vacation rental. The bell has held up well, it is loud enough we can hear a room or two away, and very easy for a small puppy to ring.

Mom, it’s time for you to take me outside!
The bell worked so well for our puppy, that we ordered a second unit. We use it for our puppy to have the ability to inform is that she needs to go outside to relieve herself.

Good sound
This was purchased to retrain my 14 year old dog to alert me that she needs to go outside. The dog is not yet trained after a week but I love the simplicity of the design. I feel my little 10 lb dog may be sensitive to the sound. The bell is little but, up close, the tone is more intense. It is easy to activate just by close movements. I may reposition and lower the bell closer to the floor. I know it is the right tool for my dog. I can see that it can be used for many different purposes.

Temporary solution at best...
Not sure how long this will last as my Dobie pup grows up to adult size, but it will be a very good starter bell to teach her with. I love that this bell is very safe for her as there are no places on it where she could catch a nail while pawing at the bell, unlike those sleigh bell types. The sound of the bell is very pleasant as well. The bell itself is quite small, measuring only an inch & a-half across. The one I received seemed to be damaged because the black metal part of the bell was bent to one side. I tried to straighten it so it would look like the bell in the picture in the item description, but I couldn't fix it. (Yes, I know the bell is supposed to be bent over like it is in the picture, but mine was also bent over to the left side and looked crooked.) It came with two tiny, ittsy-bittsy screws to attach the bell to a door or wall, but I don't see how they would hold a puppy of any size pawing at it, so I will be using something else to attach it ....so to sum it up, I don't see this as a long-term potty doorbell but rather something to get my pup through puppyhood and then I will be buying something that looks nicer. If my review has helped you, please click "Yes"! Thank-you!***UPDATE 7/17/2016*** I ended up tossing this in the trash and purchased a very nice brass nautical bell from Amazon instead. I wanted something bigger and more durable. The GoGo bell just looks too tacky on my front door. Oh well, at least it was a "Lightening Deal"!

Doh approved
We have a new puppy and she has already learned to ring the bell. Very easy for them to press with their nose or paw. Very sturdy. Great price, good value.

It's ok
The concept of bell training is great. The bell on this is also nice. Loud enough for us to hear anywhere in the house but not so loud that it is annoying. My main complaint is the design. Our dog doesn't hit it with her nose even though we tried to train her to do it. When she has to go she paws at it. The S curve design means she gets her paw caught in it and pulls on it. The screw that come with it as SO SO SO small and no anchors which mean our dog pulled it out of the wall in less than a week of owning it.If the screws were longer, anchors were I clouded, and the metal mount wasnt so thin and cheap I would give this a higher rating. But for only $7 you can't expect too much I suppose.

Not just for dogs! I bought this bell twice!
I bought this bell first, a cheaper bell then this bell again. We were trying to teach our Aussie how to use the bell, although he us smart, it was actually our part Maine Coon cat that taught him how to use the bell to go out. Then I bought one for the outside to alert us someone wants in, cat or dog. Now I am purchasing one to put at our sliding back door when 2 of my 3 cats want in. We tied one of those bungee cords with the ball on it to encourage the cats and it has worked! We bought a cheaper bell but it's stiffer and was harder to ring. That's why I'm buying my third bell from here again. It's amazing how smart cats are!

Not All Bells Are Created Alike
I first purchased a Lanier brand White Shopkeepers Bell for training our dog and absolutely love it.The bell was well made and worked great. We trained our dog quickly and within 2 days she was ringing the bell consistently whenever she needed to go potty outside.I wanted another Bell for our cabin at the lake but this time I wanted the color black. I tried to order the Lanier brand again however they were "Currently Unavailable" so I sourced out this GoGo bell instead. The GoGo bell looks the same in the pictures however when I received it the quality was cheap and the construction was very poor. The biggest problem with the GoGo shopkeepers bell is the black metal spring mounting strap is woefully thin and flimsy. The mounting strap is so thin and weak it has a hard time holding up the bell and makes the bell fail widely when moved. The mounting strap on our Lanier bell wash much stronger, stiffer and sturdier.I sent the GoGo bell back to Amazon for a Refund and searched again on Amazon to find another "Better Built" bell.I found another better made shopkeepers bell "FTVOGUE" brand (ASIN B07GKMF364). The metal strap on the FTVOGUE bell is stiffer and stronger than the GoGo bell which I prefer.I returned my GoGo bell and do not recommend this specific shopkeepers bell based on the quality of the product.I did purchase another bell from Amazon - ASIN B07GKMF364 which looks the same but is better built.I also had good luck with the Lanier brand shopkeepers bell also on Amazon.

Our puppy was trained in one day!!!
I liked the size of the item and the sound of the bell. This is our second purchase of this item which we purchased to train our puppy to let us know when he needs to go out to do his business... One for our house and one for our cottage.
