MAC Matte Lipstick - 613 Sin Women 0.1 oz

Matte lipstick by MAC, is there anything so wonderful? The formula is a staple, not “retro matte” which is dry and chalky on application (I love it, it doesn’t budge) but just “matte.” There’s a wee bit of cream with this formula; it’s comfortable and grippy. I suggest the ozone pencil (also by MAC) underneath to prime. Liner by Buxom in plum works to but isn’t necessary. The color is rich and stunning; heavily pigmented with vivid color payoff. It’s a kind of black cherry red; some may call it wine, but that’s not quite accurate. There’s nothing warm about it. It’s cool, cool and more cool, which I love. So no brick in there at all. I think black cherry is a good description. Like all MAC matte lipsticks, you won’t wear it on your teeth (be sure to allow setting time and blot), it lasts and lasts, reapply after eating. You’ll love the deep, fruity black/red look!

Love the depth & intensity of this color! It is a true blue undertone plum - it is very dark, so unless you are a Winter complexion and wear winter colors regularly, you may find this is too dark for you - At Least during the daytime, it is perfect for night and dramatic effect.

This is my favorite lipstick and I recently found out it was discontinued. I'm sad about that! I had to pay extra on Amazon because MAC has discontinued this shade.

Quality of color & usual MAC brand as described

Love love love this color… I hate that it so difficult to find now. I love the darkness of it at night and I mix it with foundation for day. It’s my ultimate choice. It does last all day and I receive a lot of compliments on the shade.

The color is much more like a black or deep, deep purple. There is no filter on the photo. It is that dark. I tried to apply it thinking maybe the color would be lighter once it goes on, but it was too thick and dry to even apply. It almost seemed like the lipstick I’ve kept under my sink for two years thinking one day I’ll use it.

Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's not what I expected. It's a brighter color than I thought and saw it to be online. I didn't like it at first, but I think that's just me. I saw this as a favorite on a review of best M.A.C. lipsticks for tan skin, so I decided to get it for myself to expand out of the neutrals. I vary from light-skinned during winter and to almost Brazilian tan during the summer. I also have yellow/olive undertone. This lipstick is a bit bright for my taste, but I think I just have to get used to it since I'm not used to VERY pink pinks like this. It's no where near close as bright a pink as Pigeon. It's a beautiful color. I'd say it's a color between a sort of nude color because it's not super electric pink, but also rose/pink if that makes sense (more on the pink side)? Great starter of transitioning from nude pinks to brighter pinks (if you've never worn bright pinks). Might be good for everyday looks (not sure because I haven't worn it enough). Overall? Definitely good to have in collection and worth it.

I was surprised at how fast I received this item, first of all. I ordered this almost 4 days before Christmas and it arrived to days later. The color itself is gorgeous. It's a little darker than the picture but I blame that on my screen resolution. I love that the color doesn't bleed and can be worn with or without liner. It stays put and doesn't come off easily throughout the day. Unless you're doing a whole lot of lip-smacking, you my need to reapply maybe once or twice a day. The color is gorgeous and I'm a light, brown-skinned woman. Trust me, you'll love this seductive, deep red hue. It's a mysterious color and I love it!
