Works
The smaller size was very nice and it fits into a bedroom closet. It works and the guns are secure and away from the younger kids curiosity. Which you would think that in teaching your kids gun safety and respect it won't happen. Your kids might respect but other peoples kids do not and that is where the trouble happens. Combined lack of brain cells and look what I can do. This was a cheap start to securing. This cabinet got some dents during shipping so I don't expect this to hold up if somebody really wanted to rip it open. But it will slow somebody down. It is a metal cabinet with a lock and has an area to hold your riffle upright. It serves it's purpose. Very happy with the price and fast shipping. No stars knocked for a few dents in shipping. I knew from other peoples reviews it might happen. I am a very short woman and I was able to slide this out of the box and set it up on my own.

Good, cheap cabinet. Even better with a few modifications.
It's a nice little cabinet. Yes, mine was dinged up and the packaging was tore up. That being said, its job is to store firearms. I don't care if the sides have a dent. All the stickers i put in it will cover that up. I added carpeting to the interior and made a wood shelf to replace the plastic one. The plastic shelf seems a bit flimsy and is too shallow IMO. A couple of 2x6 stuck together works much better.

Some things to know
I wanted to write a comprehensive review of this product, but many others have already touched on the majority of points needed to determine if this product meets your needs. I will add a few other side notes for folks considering this item.The construction and build is almost identical to my Gladiator Cabinets I use for storage of tools and household handyman goods. For reference, you can head down to Lowes or Home Depot and look at the metal storage cabinets for a comparison. The locking mechanism is a little better than the ones you will find there, albeit not much better. There is a very nice painted smooth finish that makes it feel like a real safe, and also look like one, but once you move it or knock on it, you will see the difference immediately.The item is easily damaged in shipping. Although it was packaged well, I have several quarter size dings in the door and all around. If you can find this item at a local store, I would pick it up there and forgo the chance it is damaged in shipping. The box was not gouged or damaged in any way and I was not able to determine this until totally unpacked. The only way I will see any re-compensation is if I box it up and ship it back. So now, I am stuck with a bunch of dings I will try to hammer out.As many have said, this is a cabinet, not a safe. However, if you do your research, many "safes" aren't "safes" either! For me, my main concern was children getting into guns, and dissuading smash and grab thieves, which, the majority of home break-ins, are. i have two German Sheppard's, ADT, a secured property, and will be hiding this cabinet, therefore, I didn't need a huge safe that will take 45-60 min to break into. Fire was also not a concern to me, as the majority of even $2000+ safes will not protect guns adequately in a fire event. Remember, if a thief wants your guns, they will get them if given the right amount of time.14 Guns is an arbitrary number, and space will depend on how you set up the cabinet, the types of firearms you are storing, and what other items you choose to store as well. If you have side-by-sides, you may not get many in there. If you look at other peoples pictures, you may see some set-ups that will work and provide you with adequate space.Lastly, I am by no means a strong guy and I was able to unpack and easily move the cabinet to the space I wanted it in without the use of a dolly and without scratching or gouging floors. I could have also easily moved it up a flight of stairs alone if I took my time.Be sure to do your research and make a list of your needs when deciding on this or another option. $160 and delivered to my door was the selling point for me. It will keep small children out until they are old enough to learn proper gun safety. It will keep everything in one place and provides a nice option for my hidden wall. I took one star away for it being beat up on delivery. Good luck in making a decision!

Amazon=Good ... Stack-On=BAD
As usual, no problems ordering, tracking or receiving this cabinet from Amazon.However, the problems begin with Stack-On.The packaging was sub-par and the cabinet arrived with dents and dings.After opening the carton, it was evident that there were no keys to be found. Yes, I looked through all the packaging materials multiple times. No keys.Called Stack-On to get some keys sent and they could not just send them based on a serial number and key code. They needed a copy of my Amazon order confirmation. I understand the security concerns, but this is a non-value-added step since an email of an invoice can easily be spoofed. So, no real security.When they give you the customer service email address, you think you are done. However, your email bounces back and tells you to send it to a different email address so it can get through their spam filters. Just another step that irritates me because I am still dealing with their incompentence.It took two calls to Stack-On (the first was not answered and sent to a "general" voicemail box...) The lady I spoke with on the second call was short and not that pleasant.Apparently, this is a known problem (she knew the routine and even mentioned that the keys tend to fall out of the box during shipment). I hate known problems that are never fixed. Some duct tape would fix this one!Of course, this was a Friday afternoon and she told me the keys would be sent out the following Monday. I suggested that someone drop them in the mail on their way home to save me a few days of looking at a cabinet I could not open. No chance. No real customer help there...Finally, received the keys days later and was able to get inside the cabinet. It was immediately obvious that the problem with the weak/flimsy foam bottom liner I read about in other reviews had not been addressed either. That piece of foam is useless. I used some high-density foam left over from another project and it worked much better. The rest of the cabinet seemed okay until I started working with the hardware.I was short two screws (one for the gun rests and one for the shelf). Luckily, I needed neither of them, but it is frustrating to see that errors continue to pile up somewhere in the Stack-On factory that are not caught prior to shipment.Probably will buy one again if the price is right. At least I know what I am taking on as a project. Just not a very happy customer.

Arrived damaged!
As soon as I opened the box, I noticed the bottom right corner at the front had been damaged (see pic). It appears as though it had been dropped on that corner while still in the box. I will have to Tremclad the area to avoid rust over time.
