To say the truth I was highly doubtful that it will work. Plus you can just exchange it and not return, yet after spending so much for vacation I thought it's worth a try. It bolts the door well from inside. No one can push it open from out side, I tried it with my full strength. Have not used the alarm system since that was not my purpose. If you are travelling, I guess it's safe to carry it along, is light weight, mainly in your hotel room, once you slide it at bottom of door, no one can open it from outside.

Alarm is too loud , might disturb the neighbors. Should have the sound/volume control button
