Why doesn't navitas make public the cadmium level of this product, rated "not approved" by consumer lab?

I can't speak for the company, but my guess is perhaps it's below the required-to-report level. Even Consumer Labs comments that there isn't a requirement to report unless it exceeds.

Do other brands have cadmium at levels like Navitas is reported to have? How serious is this issue?

It is very serious especially for pregnant women and children, but toxic to everyone. You may purchase a consumer report on cadmium levels in cacao products online but it costs money.

What are the cadmium levels in this?

Until around '20-'21, Navitas sourced most of their cocoa beans from Peru. The cacao made from these contained a reported 0.65 mcg/g of cadmium. But as those supplies were phased out, Sierra Leone became the supplier. The only third-party review I've found for this newer powder states that cadmium levels were down to 0.4 mcg/g...somewhat better than average for cacao powder. That seems logical given that Sierra Leone soil samples contain considerably lower levels of cadmium than Peruvian ones do. It may not sound like much of a difference, but over time, that reduction really adds up. I know my answer to this particular question is sorta irrelevant now...being 4 years late...but maybe it will help with an understandably important health question many continue to have.

It seem to me so. I am using it to give flavour to the milk and it is not sweet at all, I think it is compleatly raw.
