Very disappointed. These are short & thin.
Product title: "BRUTUS & BARNABY Pig Ear Slivers- "THICK CUT", All Natural Dog Treat, Healthy Pure Pork Ear, Easily Digested, Best Gift for LARGE & Small Dogs". These are NOT "THICK CUT". They are short & thin. The size is similar to a stick of chewing gum. In the last 2 years I have ordered this item 7 times so I am very familiar with the size & shape of the "slivers" and no, I am not confusing the "slivers" with the whole pig ear size that they also sell. The description says for LARGE dogs. If you look at the photos of the product, that is the size that I am used to buying. If you look at the customer photo of the Yorkie, you will see how small the slivers are. I have a 40 lb Aussie. There is no way that I am going to give her one of these short, thin ones. She would probably choke on it. I am going to return these to Amazon & order another brand.*** I opened the package & counted the pieces. There were about 100 "slivers" in the bag but they are small & thin and of those, only 7 were an acceptable size & even then, they were smaller than the other "slivers" that I previously bought. If you look at the product photos, it looks like there are maybe 40 larger, thicker "slivers" in the bag. The bags are even a different size & shape. The bags I bought previously were square shaped & this bag is tall & narrow. The photos shown on the product page are the ones I used to get when I ordered. I wish that I could read the "UPC" code to see if they match or if this is a new item.

Great Value
I was looking for a "long-lasting" chew for my large pups. By long-lasting, I mean 15 minutes or more. Just about all the long-lasting chews I have found last for a few minutes only. The pig ears were no exception, lasting about 4 minutes. But, they are less expensive than most of the chews I have tried. Most chews are $3+. There were 19 pig ear slivers in the bag, so these were about a dollar per sliver. A great value, especially for an all-natural, easily-digestible product. One of my pups has a very sensitive tummy, and she had no issues.

Pig Ear Slivers are a hit!
These are perfect for our toy poodle. A whole pig's ear is too much and most other products seem to be made for larger dogs. These pig ear slivers are a perfect size and thickness for her enjoyment. While other products have caused loose stools, these have not. Thank you for making a quality product. We will purchase these again. We have shared these with neighboring dogs and they also love them. Their families will probably be purchasing them as well.

**BEWARE** RANCID!!
The bag of pig ears I received are rancid. My puppy will not eat them and I don't blame him because they smell horrendous. This product is not eligible for a refund or return so I've literally thrown away $21 especially since the pig ears have to be thrown into the garbage. I should have read the description before purchasing this product instead of purchasing based on the ratings and price. A few years ago I bought cow tails and pig ears in bulk from another source unrelated to Amazon that came from South America (same source as the Brutus & Barnaby Pig Ear Slivers) and after a week of receiving those treats they turned rancid and actually ended up having 2.5in hairy grubs inside the cow tails. The bulk incident happened in 2018 but the airtight pet food container I kept the bulk items in still smells slightly rancid, it's a distinct smell you can never forget and why I knew the Brutus & Burnaby pig ear slivers were garbage when I opened the bag. Do your dog and wallet a favor and look elsewhere for a high quality dog chew.

Just one whiff drove my dogs away
I’m not sure if the oder of these pig ears was intentional but they were so funky my dogs literally ran to another room after a curious but brief sniff. The look on their faces was priceless. My dogs are not strangers to pig ear treats. I took a chance on this brand and they just weren’t having it. It smelled so bad I had to throw the bag away outside in the waste bin. I tried airing it out but the funk would cover my fingers and I would have to put deodorant on my hands to mask the smell. I won’t be ordering this again.

Hair in those ears
I would have given this product a 5 star, just for the main reason that I am purchasing this item for the 3rd time. However, I can't get past re-reading that the company inspects every sliver or ear before it goes in the bag. My dog absolutely loves this product so I will continue to purchase it. It is great quality especially for the money. The thing I can't get past is the "hair" that comes in some of the "slivers" provided. Really? While my dog doesn't care, it's pure delight to her, I can't bring myself to touch them and have figured out a utensil is needed to pull them from the bag. I realize they are pig ears, but feeding my dog pig hair is a little much. Until my vet tells me that it's not okay (they are aware my dog tends to eat other gross stuff like rocks as well) I'll continue to give these treats to her, but as gross as it is to humans, I'd recommend them to dog owners because your dog will have a great treat.

They smell horribly, but my dog loves them
I like that they are smaller than whole ears, so I can give my dog one more frequently, and still not give her too much. She loves them. But they really stink! I hold my breath from the time I open the bag to when I've closed it back up and put it away. It's not a chemical smell - it's just how they smell.Since my dog loves them I will continue to get them though.

Super chewer loves them
They're stinky, nasty, greasy, and some of them have some hair left on them.PERFECT. Luna loves them. They are her favorite thing, hands down. You wouldn't think a pomeranian-chihuahua mix would be so destructive, but when she gets bored, she finds things to destroy with her teeth. Sometimes she finds expensive things. These keep her busy and out of trouble for most of the day.If you also have a small super-chewer dog who loves stinky, nasty things, and are tired of them stealing and eating your underwear, I can't recommend these more. If you have a bigger dog, go for the whole pig ears, as these are pretty small.
