Nova3D Stan Grey resin review - Solid resin for the price.
Review of Nova3D Stan Grey resin:The packaging for this resin is nice and neat and has some details about the resin on the cardboard box. The only thing I would add is the stock exposure value recommended by Nova 3D. The bottle that contains the resin is similar to the anycubic bottles, very sturdy and easy to use without spillages. The 3D printer I use is an Anycubic Photon S.I tested this resin at both 0.02 and 0.05 layer heights using both supported and non supported print files. The STL’s I used were from Titan Forge’s Bloodfields kickstarter campaign and a trophy base from thingyverse. The non supported STL files printed at layer height 0.05 without issue using the following basic settings:Layer: 0.05Exposure time: 6 - 7Bottom layer: 2Bottom exposure time: 30The pictures show wall sections, banner poles, trophy base and an objective marker. The Detail is excellent. The supported STL files were printed at layer height 0.02 and this is where I found some issues. The Goblin, Elf archer and Elf mage all failed to print first time due to the supports breaking. The files were pre supported by Titan Forge and they used some super fine supports in order to get as clean a print as possible. I also tried printing these files at different exposure values and also at layer height 0.05 but the prints always failed. In comparison anycubic translucent green also failed to print until I raised the exposure values to 9-11 seconds. To fix this I looked at the problem points on the STL and altered it by using larger, more sturdy supports. This worked a treat and so it is possible that the issue lay with the supports and not the resin. (That being said people have had successful prints with the super fine supports using other resins at higher exposure values.)The settings I settled on for the supported miniatures are as follows:Layer: 0.02Exposure time: 5.8 - 6Bottom layer: 4Bottom exposure time: 30 - 40I believe that using altered supports the exposure time may even be lowered to between 4 and 5 for super fine detail but I was not able to test this as I ran out of resin. I am however very happy with the results at 5.8 seconds exposure time. The resin itself has a very thin consistency and needs to be vigorously shaken before use. The thin consistency enabled me to keep the rising height at 5mm as the resin was able to run under the build plate quickly. The adhesion to the build plate of this resin is excellent allowing bottom layer counts to be minimal. The adhesion was so good that it became a bit of an issue during clean up. I was not able to release the unsupported prints (printed straight off the build plate) from the build plate without damaging them.To remedy this I boiled the kettle and poured the hot water around the base of the prints. This is actually shown in a very good video on the Nova3D website. After doing this the prints came off very easily without any damage.I would suggest cleaning the build plate with isopropyl alcohol before pouring the hot water as doing so without this step left a grey residue that was annoying to clean off.In Conclusion this is a solid resin at a really good price and will be my go to resin for terrain and objects printed directly from the build plate without supports. I would also be happy to use this for miniatures as long as I have time to examine the supports on the STL’s first. My final rating is a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Too brittle
I bought this at a good price but the expiry date was just over 6 mths. Detail was printed well on a Mars 3 but the resulting print after curing i found too brittle. Not a resin i would use again.

Great product - will use more of this resin
Bought this as I needed a clear green resin to make a base for a warhammer model.Immediate impressions was that this was very odour free (always a bonus).I printed using an Elegoo Mars printer, and as a starting point used the standard exposure times from Chitubox (60 sec bottom layer and 8 Sec for additional layers). I did have an initial print fail - but this turned out to be the support setting in the latest version of Chitubox (warning to Chitubox users - the latest version at time of writing - 1.6.5.1 has a new way of creating supports which do not always work - be prepared to move up a support level and density). The base is 120mm by 95mm - quite a large print, one thing that impressed me with this resin is the low shrinkage. For prints of this surface area and thinness - I would normally expect some (or often a lot of) warping. As you will see from the second picture above the plate is perfectly flat.I have bought a bottle of the grey resin and am looking forwards to using this for general purpose prints.

Excellent detail reproduction and easy to use
This is an excellent resin for high detail - it handled 25 micron prints without hassle, picking up the smallest of features with a crisp finish. The prints are slightly translucent which might be useful for backlighting.Strength seems to be pretty average, so fine for most things, with a small amount of flexibility as well. The resin is a thin milky white and needs a little stirring if it has settled in the vat or bottle. It handles long prints pretty well, so the dye does not seem to settle too quickly. For 50 micron layers I used 6.5 second exposure, 30 seconds each for 3 bottom layers and got really good adhesion on the Nova Elfin bed, which has some kind of ceramic coating. It can probably go lower than that for the first layers, as the adhesion is pretty high and large, thick print areas are a struggle to remove. There is almost no yellowing with this resin, which is interesting. This is a great resin that has gotten me some impressive results, so I would definitely recommend it, especially since the price is very reasonable.

Low odour, high quality detail at a fantastic price.
As the title suggests, this resin has a very low odour compared to others and I find it being overpowered by the IPA I use to clean it. In the pictures I've posted you can see the stunning detail you can achieve with this resin and a relatively low end Creality 3d LD-002R. I also have found that it does mix well with other resins encase you want to finish off a bottle to complete a print, didn't need to mix it in either, simply poor into the bed. From small scale miniatures to larger ones and even decorations / crafts. I recommend this resin to any and everyone. For those interested, these are the print details for my LD-002R.Layer: 0.05mmExposure Time: 8-9 seconds depending on trust of supports.Bottom Layer: 10 layersBottom Exposure Time: 50-60 seconds depending on weight of model to be printed.

Quickly become my go-to resin
Great price for the quality, capable of the detail of Elegoo resin without the brittleness, the flexibility of Syratech without the price tag. Really quick print time (3s/layer on my Flashforge Foto 6.0). Only downside (being nitpicky) is the smell is stronger than other resins but once the cover is on the printer it's not noticeable
