Did you know that 800,000 children are reported missing every year in the United States? In other words, every 40 seconds, a child is reported as missing or abducted. With alarming statistics such as these, what can a responsible parent do? Fortunately, there is a solution. SkyNanny 2.0 is our latest innovation in child tracking comprised of a device worn by the child coupled with an easy-to-use app for your Android smart phone. This amazing product can provide the parent with peace of mind in knowing their loved ones' location. It's also unique in that the app does NOT use a server platform, unlike competitors. Apps that use server platforms collect your private information, something we believe customers want to keep to themselves. The SkyNanny 2.0 device uses a standard (GSM) SIM card from your mobile carrier. We strongly suggest using US Mobile for the most economical plan to operate your tracker - $10/mo for unlimited position updates, and 100 minutes/mo of talk time to take advantage of the voice features of your tracker. So why use a GPS tracker over a mobile phone? Some advantages include: 1. No risk of child incurring large phone bills 2. Less risk of child having the device stolen 3. Child can dial either you or one alternative number 4. You can discretely monitor the child's whereabouts without having to make an intrusive call 5. Proactive in communicating potential issues, including SOS panic button When it comes to your child's safety, don't take chances with cheap clone products that don't work. Cannot Get an Accurate Location!!!
I wanted this to work so bad! The customer service is excellent, they really try to help you. However, no matter how hard I try, I just can't get an accurate location from this device. Sometimes when I send for the location via my cellphone, it takes 30 min. before I receive a text back from the gps unit with the WRONG location. Not even close to where my daughter really was while she was wearing it. It's strange to me that you don't need to purchase data for this to work, just text. Anyways, I tried a free child locator app on an old cell phone and that location was right on, everytime. It used wifi or data to find the location. Why can't these small gps devices work as good as a smartphone does in giving an accurate location? I don't get it! For now, I will send this back and just stick with an old cell phone. By the way, my daughter is 8 and is on the Autism Spectrum and I really hoped this would work for her.Update: March 1st, 2016 - I am sitting next to my daughter in a Dr. office. She is wearing her GPS device. I try to locate her and it used LBS which is extremely in accurate. It shows her miles away! I keep sending for her location over and over. After several LBS locations, I finally get a GPS signal, and even that showed her across the street. This device needs to be more accurate. Right now it's useless.

Nice GPS/OK APP (needs some work)
Central NJ area.I've only had it one day. I have been testing it all day though and will update the ratings as I get more acquainted with the system.Pros:Can make and receive calls and SOS messages (not the best call quality but definitely good enough). So far the GPS seems fairly accurate, better than other models that I have tried.Uses cell phone triangulation somehow, I went into Walmart and it showed I was inside. Which is better than most GPS systems.Very small and light weight, however a case is needed as I feel one small drop will break it.Cons:The android software is not to great and needs improvementEach time it gave a new location it texted me rather than just updating it on the App. However the text updates did use Google maps and we're fairly accurate each time.Make sure you have unlimited texts. (This also can be due to me not fully knowing how to use the system. The power button is too sensitive and I shut the device a few times, but with a request from the App seemed to turn it on.No geofencingConclusion: Despite the negatives, It seems to be a nice device to have.Update 8/3/15 - added 1 starI have had the GPS for 3 days. The phone triangulation is a hit/miss at points being a few blocks away, however when using the tracking via the GPS, it tends to be extremely accurate. The APP is not as bad as I original thought, I was not using the Map feature entirely correctly.Customer Service: I was a bit nervous when I couldn't find a phone number for the company, which I still find a bit frustrating as I rather call than email. However the company did answer my questions promptly through email. Hopefully the company will add a customer service line in the future. Also after looking for a case for several days, I was unable to find one, very disappointing. Being a child GPS there should be a waterproof shockproof case for it!!!Update 9/7/15 -Except for the problems with the app, the GPS accuracy remains accurate (within 100 feet for the most part).Con- I have gotten quite a few calls to my phone due to the sensitivity of the calling out feature, but the other advantage to it is that I don't wave to worry about my 3 year old not being able to call out.Make sure you have unlimited texts as if set for 1 minute updates you will get a text every minute.Update 3/27/16Pro's- Still works great, I got a new phone (Samsung S7). The app works a lot better than with the Samsung Note series. Still accurate.Con's- Still no case and the little corner that holds the string broke just from being used, (never been dropped) so I had to make a makeshift case for it.

Happy with purchase.
I have been using the SkyNanny 2.0 for a couple of months now on my 5 year old. I have had a hard time finding a place to put it where he wont play with it or get constant calls because he's accidentally hitting the buttons. I currently attach it to his braces (he wears lower leg braces) and try to position it where it will not get hit while he's playing or resting at school. The GPS antenna is small (they tell you that in all the descriptions and comments) so if he's inside it doesn't work at all and I only get cell phone tower locations. Unlimited text messaging is less expensive than most data plans, so it's nice that it uses text communication to update the app with his location. I would love it if they would develop a case or wear strap for it so I can buckle or strap it a little better. In all, I'm very happy with the purchase. The US Mobile plan that I use is inexpensive.

Good tiny phone for kids!
If you only want your kids to be able to call you, this is a great solution. There are two buttons you can program on the device to call two numbers. Use one of them for them to call you, the other to call an alternate number. That way your kid has a backup option. The locator won’t be accurate if the device is indoors. When outside, it works very well. My only complaint is the packaging isn’t impressive and there is no printed manual. You need to read the electronic version that was emailed when you purchased it. You can also download it from their website.I really like it!

This is a great little device for your pre-teen child to carry so you can contact them. The two-way calling works very well. The app takes a little getting used to, but if you follow the instructions, it works well. It's nice to know you can get a location on your child to know where they are without calling if needed. You can also get a history of tracked locations. Highly recommended!

Android app could be better.
Like the other reviewer, the location does not update on the app installed on my Samsung Note 3 phone, just texts are sent. Reinstalled the app to no avail. Deleted and added the tracker again on the app, but no luck. Sent them an email asking for assistance. Have not heard from them, yet. The location is accurate as long as GPS signal is used. If not, the triangulation of cell towers is a hit or miss. I also wish there was a case for it.

The two-way calling worked great. The GPS was terrible
The two-way calling worked great. The GPS was terrible. 90% of the time it wouldn't activate (in downtown New Orleans) so even if our child had been gotten separated from us, we really would not have been able to locate him with any speed or efficiency.
